The Chief of Staff (COS), as a partner to the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer (COO/CHRO), is to work closely with him and his team and act as a leverage, thought partner and executor in regards to defining and carrying out initiatives aligned to functional and enterprise goals on behalf of the office of the COO. In addition, the Chief of Staff will lead and participate in the development and execution of special projects, strategic in nature, that have a high reliance on flawless execution and management.
The ideal candidate will handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. This individual must also have the demonstrated ability to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison between the COO/CHRO and other constituencies, both internal and external. They must exhibit the skills to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships.
The successful COS must be highly organized, process-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity with ease. In support of the COO/CHRO, the ideal candidate must be able to act as an operator and synthesize information independently, as well as forecast upcoming needs and processes for the office of the COO as the organization continues to grow. This role is perfect for someone who wants to add immediate value to internal projects and processes, play a key role in program development and implementation, and work collaboratively with several stakeholders across the organization.
In addition, the COS will manage the day-to-day affairs of the office of the COO, acting as a proxy when appropriate and managing office needs and solving problems without burdening the COO/CHRO.
Someone in this role can hold many different responsibilities, many of which might vary depending on the organization’s needs.
Bachelor's Degree required. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
