Role / Title

The Director of Procurement Finance serves as the key position to lead all efforts related to our Procurement opportunities, reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain Finance. This position is responsible for Payable activities, US Procurement Operations costs, Procurement Footprint activities and Procurement Finance automation. This role manages a team of 6 in the Chicago office. The team is responsible for Indirect and Direct Procurement responsibilities and owns the annual budgeting process for the group. This position is key to drive behavior in Procurement to pursue strategic pricing and better negotiations.

Key Responsibilities include:

Responsible for managing all Payables activities for US Operations (250M USD)

Manages all strategy on payables improvements

Identify which suppliers' terms should be extended and negotiated

Set goals that should be delivered by each Kraft Heinz buyer

Responsible for tracking the payables plan

Explain variances vs. the budget and the plan

Controls US Procurement operational costs (4B USD)

Designs and rolls out global best practices for procurement finance

Streamlines processes – reduces "touches" of data

Simplifies and clarifies reporting

Determines if we should reduce our costs and responsible for the calculations and actions to execute

Manages inflation tracking and forecasting; target price reduction setting by category; results tracking vs. budget and the plan; management of indirect purchases and target setting; purchase contracts language approval; manage project saving decisions; results forecasting in order to define necessary actions to get to the target

Responsible for managing all Procurement Footprint activities to generate savings

Calculate and define the Procurement financial savings that should be generated by Footprint and decide what actions should be taken

Determine movement of volumes between Suppliers and Co-Packers to maximize synergy on M&A

Weekly routines with 40 factories for tracking Footprint savings vs each business case (involving USD amounts, investments, start-up costs, volumes ramp-up on new lines, etc.) with the Global COO of Kraft Heinz.

Leads the automation of all Procurement Finance Reports to produce process improvement on the team

Oversees the responsibilities of the Indirect and Direct Procurement teams:

Monthly actuals reporting (MPR)

Coordinate LE process and forecast inputs

VE/Reform actuals and forecast

Monitor contractual events: rebates, obligations, penalties

New savings initiatives/ Project tracking

Interact with Risk Management on market trends and hedging strategies

Market Inflation tracking

Supervises the AOP planning of the team

Build and communicate planning calendar with all key stakeholders

Standard Cost build and reconciliation

P&L inputs and rack up against target

Ownership of total Wish file and Checkpoint presentations

Minimum Qualifications


BS in Engineering, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.

Minimum of 4 years of experience

Strong business acumen, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills

Ability to influence cross-functional team members

Strong Technical and Systems orientation

Motivated self-starter who can effectively work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Possesses the ability to lead teams and effectively work through others

Team player who manages collaboratively with the ability to influence management

Exhibits strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
