General Manager, Global Business Development, Technology Integration

Sony Electronics Inc has an excellent opportunity available for a Head of OR Integration Business Development, responsible for the development and successful execution of business strategy and growth in the North America market, which includes sales and full P&L responsibility. This will involve defining business models and scalable processes and approaches to regional marketing practices that results in new business and accelerated lead generation/customer acquisition through multiple channels.  The preferred candidate must have the ability to understand the overall scope of OR Integration business and take responsibility for results not only in their specific area, but also to direct outcomes that benefit the overall Sony healthcare organization. 

Relationships within the industry are key to the success of this business. It is of the utmost importance that Head of OR Integration Business Development build and appropriately leverage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), physicians, hospital administrators, consultants, etc., as well as top management of our customer base.  Must effectively manage industrial relations with medtech, healthcare IT, and Architect & Engineering firms.  Internally, this position will collaborate with HQ R&D and other internal business units for development on products and solutions required for the market.  Will work closely with the internal Marketing Communications team to manage a targeted communications strategy including collateral, trade shows, and web/interactive/social media.  This individual must be a self-starter, goal-driven, have an excellent understanding of the industry, an extensive network of contacts, superior negotiating skills and a clear focus on creating satisfied customers/partners.

  • BA/BS Degree in Business 10+ years of well-rounded marketing, sales and management experience in positions of increasing responsibility – within the Healthcare industry.  In lieu of degree, must have 14+ years of experience.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and proven ability and success in strategic consulting, developing new markets, launching new technologies and business solutions, and expanding growth in existing markets. 
  • Proficient in engaging with key C-suite clinical, strategic and economic decision makers
  • Significant knowledge of the surgical OR Integration market and workflow, especially with video and IP signal management
  • Proven track record of initiating and launching new projects, product development and integration, and managing complex deals
  • Experience driving execution in a large matrix organization and experience working in a multinational organization preferred
  • Strong network within the healthcare industry, including hospitals/health systems is needed
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing principles, demand generation, brand, product and service management, sales and business development; along with a demonstrated track record of success and performance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate win-win solutions
  • Strong reporting, project management, analytical and prioritization skills; demonstrated change management success 
  • Must be willing and able to travel, 25-50% of the time
