What you get to do every day: 

  • Develop and continuously evolve our business operations strategy, incl. decisions regarding shipping carriers, fulfillment center automation, and staffing levels
  • Provide hands-on management of day-to-day operations, finding the right balance between optimizing the customer experience, building long-lasting vendor relationships, and minimizing costs
  • Be the subject matter expert for all operational processes
  • Drive continuous process improvement, improving the coordination between functional teams, implementing enhancements to systems/tools/reporting, and increasing employee productivity
  • Present our unique and beginning-of-lifecycle product offering in the most compelling fashion to maximize purchase rates
  • Delight Touch of Modern customers by correctly setting their expectations regarding product delivery timelines and providing timely and accurate answers to their questions
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of 70+ employees and contractors in multiple locations
  • Promote the professional growth of functional managers and individual contributors

What you bring to the role:

  • 10+ years of people management experience in a B2C ecommerce company with responsibility for managing day-to-day operations
  • Penetrating strategic thinker with a deep-rooted sense of curiosity
  • Skilled operator who knows how to balance an intense focus on achieving daily results with making steady progress towards a longer-term vision
  • Strong passion for optimizing processes, never accepting the status quo as “good enough”
  • Outstanding analytical and logical skills, with the ability to master intricate operational details without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Demonstrated success in inspiring and developing talent across a broad range of experience and skill sets
  • Empathy, pragmatism, and the willingness to put the business and team first
  • MBA or MSc degree with an emphasis on business operations & management
