The Head of Investment Policy Support plays a key role in the growth and success of the wealth management business within MMLIS. This position provides leadership to a team of consultants working with partners in the field including advisors, local supervisory teams, investment specialists and agency management. The team is focused on identifying and resolving investment policy issues and providing the field with consultative operational and investment support. The Head of IPS is responsible for providing day-to-day management of the team's responsibilities and driving the strategic focus on retaining and growing fee-based assets under management. This will entail leadership in the areas of business development, wealth practice management and communication of investment related content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise and guidance on the wealth management platform including programs, investment vehicles, asset managers and portfolio building constructs
  • Liaise with supervisory leadership at the home office and the agency levels
  • Lead on-site agency visits to reinforce program parameters and gather advisor feedback
  • Identify, understand, and problem solve complex issues related to the wealth platform
  • Consult appropriate resources and identify customer focused resolutions
  • Train, develop, mentor and assist team members with assigned responsibilities as well as with overall professional development
  • Maintain focus on continuous improvement in processes and methods with a focus on potential for automation and streamlining of work flows
  • Transform and evolve structure and processes aligned with technology migration


  • Strong understanding of wealth management business
  • High level of expertise on investment related topics including portfolio construction, investment vehicles and asset classes
  • Adept at analyzing data to provide business solutions
  • Ability to partner effectively to drive culture and execute on goals
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Refined communication skills and strong executive presence
  • Bachelor's degree with a preferred concentration in Business, Finance, Economics or Mathematics required; advanced degree a plus
  • FINRA Series 7 and 24
  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services
  • Experience managing direct reports
