The Head of Information Technology will plan and administer maintenance and improvements associated with Cedar Point applications, network, and client hardware, as well as connectivity services with little or no direct supervision as well as Manage the design, implementation and maintenance of existing systems. This position provide strategics and technical direction on all IT/Telecoms related soft and hard projects and works closely with park departments to guide and assist with implementation of new processes to improve efficiency and guest experience.
Prepare and administer annual IT/Telecommunications capital and operations budget to ensure spending remains within the planned allocations for the fiscal year.
Manage all purchase orders, invoice approval and related project and operating expenditures. Consistently strive to identify gains through vendor negotiations that will provide improved service and lower costs.
Evaluate existing IT systems and plan modifications and implementations to maintain efficient and effective computer and network operations park-wide. Plan and implement system and application growth strategies. Also develop and implement information standards and policies to meet compliance and audit requirements.
Respond promptly to disruptions of service, providing effective communication to users, vendors and management. Prioritize resource engagement, as well as communications based upon situation criticality.
Maintain integrity and security in the operation of our IT systems. Monitor, enforce and remedies issues to meet PCI/DSS, privacy requirements. Uses standards for secure protocols like SSH, HTTPS, and SSL, not allowing clear test protocols. Communicate with Corporate IT regarding any suspected violations and unusual activity.
Operate and maintain a variety of equipment such as computers, printers, network equipment, and other related devices such as POS. Ensures that all systems and equipment are functioning properly in order to meet all daily operational requirements.
Function as the lead IT/Telecommunications project manager for all tactical and strategic projects. Engage vendors, peer departments, Corporate and Cedar Point IT/Telecommunications staff as necessary, to bring projects to a successful completion, on time and on budget.
Adhere to and enforce all Cedar Fair and specific park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies. Demonstrate commitment to customer service and fair treatment of staff in all aspects of employment.
What are we looking for?
Associates Degree in Information Technology
Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to analyze situations and provide decisive direction to staff. Work well under stress, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs
Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
