Our businesses also offer industry-leading advanced technology, a strong worldwide presence and a powerful global franchise.OverviewThis role will beresponsible for leading the global GCT Citi Commercial BankTechnology (CCB) function and willreport to the GCT Head of NAMTechnology.TheTechnology Head sets the vision and overall direction for CCB InformationTechnology insupport of the Corporation’sbusiness plans and goals, and provides both strategy and tactical activities to maintain and enhance the technology applications andinfrastructure.The role isresponsible for ensuring responsiveness to business needs and driving disruptive thought leadership and new approaches to acceleratedigital priorities and is accountable for proactively identifying and implementing actions that ensure initiatives are delivered at a high quality, on time and onbudget.The ideal candidate will be a senior-level technology professional and be a visionary leader in engineering/technology who will drive priorities while balancingrisks, capital allocations, and change management throughout the Enterprise. The candidate must be able to solve complex problems and work through roadblocks. Big deliveryexperience as well as technical and functional expertise in a Financial Services environment with a willingness to ‘roll-up sleeves’ are a must. Being able topartner with the business and create effective solutions for strategic Bank initiatives with innovation and ‘Forward Compatibility’ are essential.Responsibilities

  • Oversee vision and drive implementation of CCB technology strategy and oversee management and delivery against total book of work and directly support the Global Business Head of CCB
  • Understand what role technology and systems play in the success of that strategy – including the strategy for the bankers, the management team, and the online banking strategy for CCB clients
  • Own overall global CCB technology financialreporting responsibility
  • Interact and engage with technology and business members from ICG and GFTS. 
  • Oversee management and delivery of core app and service development; drive simplification and efficiency in core systems
  • Oversee Digital application roll-out & impact management. Establish excellence in engineering, cloud platforms and technology in banking
  • Own overall solution delivery and operation performance for CCB Technology, including key risks, issues and impact
  • Own senior relations with key vendors and ecosystem partners
  • Ensure GCT and Enterprise standards and guidelines are executed at the required levels
  • Ensure Citi’s technology is continually improved and of the highest quality on a global scale
  • Define and execute rapid digitization with a “mobile first” philosophy across software design
  • Ensure Citi provides the best multichannel and cross product customer experience in banking
  • Promote and grow a highly innovative and industry leading technology culture
  • Proactively manage internal talent pipeline and build external networks to attract top-tier talent. Attract and develop talent to meet our client’s needs and ensure ‘Forward Compatible’ success
  • Establish and maintain a high performing, open culture based on integrity and strong partnership and financial responsibility
  • Anticipate specific market opportunities/risks and actively provide critical advice and counsel to the client to ensure competitive advantage

Skills and Work Activities thatsupport theseresponsibilitiesinclude:

  • Provide senior leadership and advice/counsel on large-scale strategic initiatives and act as the representative on senior executive working groups
  • Engage in innovative problem solving activities, requiring conceptual thinking as they will be responsible for creating 'out of the box' solutions with prototypes and pilots. Certain proposals will involve extensive involvement in all phases - cost & benefit analysis of in-house vs outsourcing, timeline, expenses associated to initial outlay, cost of customization and cost to run and speed to market.
  • Develop and implement best-in-class processes, metrics, and practices
  • Establish and build global relationships and partnerships across business, technology and operations  
  • Champion an inclusive and diverse global mindset to attract, develop and advocate a deep and diverse ‘Forward Compatible’ talent pool within the organization that includes effective coaching and development.

  • Identify and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established programs of work
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure program scope definition meets business objectives
  • Manage the identification of risks which impact program delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary
  • Exercise control over budget, policy formulation and planning and significant contribution to future strategy


  • 15+ years of progressive senior technology leadership experience in the financial industry or a related field with a strong understanding/focus of Commercial Banking, Treasury and Trade Solutions and  Markets experiencepreferred
  • Bachelordegree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or a related field; Master’s degreepreferred
  • Experience of leading large-scale transformation Programs at multinational financial institutions, driving Governance and Delivery Excellence processes
  • Demonstrated change management ability – taking an organization from a perspective of legacy technology to a position of industry leading Digital innovation
  • Strong talent focus and ability to successfully recruit and develop experts from leading organizations
  • Great at mentoring, coaching as well as being a diversity champion
  • Ability to communicate a compelling vision and inspire others to deliver on an ambitious, complex, roadmap and engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within an organization, from the most technical engineer to the most savvy business / executive leader
  • Champions a culture of high standards, pushes for progress, embraces change and challenges the status quo
  • Demonstrate an ability to identify and act upon unique insights and apply them to solve unmet needs and an expertise leveraging/synthesizing competitor, emerging technology, and other marketplace trends to draw out implications to support the team's overall mission and goals.
