The Head of Data Management and Analytics for BMW is a key role responsible for overseeing, growing, and leading a team across a variety of analytics, data and processing, capabilities and technologies. This role will strive to transform customer experiences by simplifying the way we do business and always putting the customer first. He/she is responsible to collaborate closely with individuals at all levels throughout the organization, across functions and with multiple vendor/agency partners to ensure alignment across all touch points that reflect the brand promise and BMW NA vision. This role will act as the lead authoritative voice of data and analytics for the business, identifying opportunities to partner with local and central teams to define and develop an analytical toolbox.

In addition, this role will not only partner with various digital teams to create a seamless analytic framework representing an integrated view of the BMW customer, but will also ensure effective implementation of various web analytics tools. He/she will prepare a framework for targeted engagement with customers across all channels, particularly in digital channels, which will create an omni-channel approach that will improve the overall customer experience. It's critical that this position monitors the landscape of data and digital analytics, and understands how the industry is changing so that he/she can not only employ those practices, but furthermore refine, improve, and broaden the analytics offering and the team's skillset and capabilities. As business needs and circumstances are always evolving, this position will need someone to whom the status quo is not acceptable, and who strives for innovation.

This role will maintain close communication with field teams, dealer staff, and Customer Relations staff to ensure that the understanding and implementation of the customer strategy is always a top priority. He/she will also manage the relationships with various agencies to provide BMW point of view and to ensure data collection and integration is executed to best serve the BMW Group. It will be this person's responsibility to ensure that key members of various BMW Group teams are educated on the relevance of data to their businesses, and how data can be leveraged and made more accessible both internally and externally.

Qualifications and ExperienceRequired Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Communications or equivalent work exp.
  • 10+ years experience with data, analytics, business performance management, and research experience
  • 4 - 7 years experience of applying statistical techniques to marketing/communications use cases, web/mobile behavioral analytics
  • Experience in gaming, big tech, social media or eCommerce company preferred
  • Strong business and personal skills and competencies in the below areas:
  • Customer experience, communication and leadership, personal effectiveness, delivery and execution and business acumen
  • Must have the ability to lead, manage and motivate a large, diverse team of individuals with a wide range of work experience, individual skill sets, and management/leadership styles.


Technical Expertise:

  • Analytics practitioner and web analytics leadership experience; working expertise in analyzing data from digital platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, DMPs, attribution tools), ability to extract, build and deliver reports, results and recommendations
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python and experience extracting, manipulating and storing data accessed via various mechanisms
  • - Must have the ability and proven track record for finding innovative, out-of-the-box solutions to complex transactional & emotional situations.
  • Must have the ambition, willingness and expertise to deal with the general public, dealer personnel and all internal colleagues (local and central) from support staff to board level
  • Must be able to maintain positive morale and an atmosphere of transparency, trust and support
  • Ability to translate business strategy into technical data aggregation, implementation and analysis
  • Capable of contributing expertise and leading efforts both in corporate and consumer research and analysis. Ability to promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organization functions is paramount
