As we develop an enterprise-wide data and digital strategy that moves us towards greater focus on the use of data and data-driven insights, we are seeking a Data Solutions Implementation Lead with very refined expertise on cutting-edge technologies with equally strong leadership skills with a results-driven focus on execution. This individual must be able to understand meticulous details around our business requirements and translate them into methodology to calibrate our data solutions and influence our Technology arms. The Data Solutions Implementation Lead is accountable to deliver the end-to-end strategic, scalable and performant Data platform designed and developed for the enterprise value chain, in accordance to the firm's Enterprise Data Strategy. S/He is a multi-dimensional subject matter expert, with proven experience in bridging Data Architecture, Development, Implementation and Production Rollout. This individual plays a critical hands-on oversight role for end to end Data implementation activities across various execution teams, processes and controls. As an expert and champion of relevant data products/tools and on the job implementation experiences, he/she also provides feedback and actively contributes to the development and enhancements of Enterprise Data Architecture and capabilities across various related EDS Center of Excellences (CoE).

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Establish an end-to-end data solution execution as a critical factor for timely and performant/scalable delivery of all business deliverables
  • Establish industry-standards & proven methodologies around cloud based strategic data capabilities to scale and support the production of data usage targets for enterprise
  • Take a lead role in helping address the skill set gaps through coaching and guidance for relevant employees across Enterprise Data Solutions
  • As a senior and influential individual contributor, the mode of operation for this role must bring together several CoE leads and teams (e.g. BI, Semantic Layer, Data Development etc) with a significant matrix partnership.
  • Must view horizontally across several Xtreme Teams to ensure connected execution towards a solution
  • Nullify execution risks for our strategic deliverables leveraging advanced expertise focused on implementation experiences in a highly compliant environment like financial or insurance industry
  • Understand, articulate, and evolve AXA XL's existing data elements' "bits and bytes" and architecture deeply
  • Leverage and co-author data user requirements (desired output & outcome) and existing data environments (current state to target state)
  • Ensure full alignment between the optimal data implementation solution and development process is in place to deliver quality product at speed and scale.
  • Describe the structure, characteristics, behavior, and other aspects of solution to diversified members of execution teams.
  • Establish, design, and conduct regular code reviews, ensuring that best practices are followed
  • Collaborate with customers, data analysts, data scientists, infrastructure architects, data developers, data testers, BI developers and program management
  • Be accountable for guiding the implementation of the full lifecycle of a Data Solution, including:
  • Work across Xtreme teams and associated CoE's and CoE leads to connect the dots to deliver a robust and scalable Data solution
  • Ensure business requirements are translated to right Data/technical requirements and assist to define non-functional requirements for building/testing/rolling out data solutions and capabilities
  • Design & implement data solutions in a manner that balances architectural standards, implementation risks, and operational risks, with restricted parameters such as budget and time
  • Work with various CoE's, Release Management, Production support and UAT teams to ensure the delivered product is being properly released and supported post deployment
  • Ensure the future-state data solutions have been fully vetted, are performant and scalable, enable agility, can be supported, are cost effective and highly available, and meet the robust needs of the business
  • Ensure security by design to meet Information Security policies, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Regulatory requirements, and industry best practice
  • Ensure a strategic outlook of all design and implementation decisions and provide active feedback and collaborate with Data Architecture Solutions CoE for various architectural decisions.
  • Document standards, and cost and performance metrics for different data flow patterns, and provide project teams the ability to decide the most appropriate pattern for their requirements, timeline, and budget
  • Engage with tool vendors on their roadmaps and appropriate usage of their tools
  • Engage with industry experts to validate the architecture and designs, and understand industry trends

  • 10+ years of data-focused architecture, design, implementation and hands-on experience
  • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to influence data architecture and implementation strategy

  • Excellent presentation, communication (oral & written), and relationship building skills, across all levels of management

  • A minimum of Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, related technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on experience with architecting, implementing, and performance tuning of:
  • Azure cloud platform environment (GCP or AWS experience is equally valuable)
  • Data Lake technologies (Apache Big Data stack, with primary hands-on experience with HDFS, Hive, SQOOP, Spark, etc.)
  • Relational databases and structured query languages
  • NoSQL and/or NewSQL databases and query languages
  • Message queues and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ, etc.)
  • Microservices (e.g., Docker, Swarms, Kubernetes, Mesos, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience delivering full-stack solutions using Agile methodology
  • Hands-on experience working with BI tools e.g. Microstrategy, Qlik, ThoughtSpot
