AWS is seeking a senior leader for its Automated Architectural Guidance initiatives. We are exploring new ways to scale and automate the assistance that we provide to customers when they are making technical decisions about how to build on AWS. We are building new services plus curating and authoring technical content that will help customers make informed decisions through a mix of self-service and automation. We want to make it even easier for every AWS customer to build solutions on AWS that adhere to best practices.

The new leader for these initiatives will grow and manage the existing team, convert our first prototypes into customer-ready services, and think big about new approaches to self-service and automation for the delivery of technical guidance. You will have an opportunity to take a highly-strategic AWS initiative and grow it into something that will impact the experience of AWS customers globally.

Responsibilities will include:

• Owning the strategy, roadmap and delivery for all Automated Architectural Guidance initiatives

• Representing the initiatives to senior AWS leadership and customers

• Managing and expanding cross-functional teams comprised of SDEs, Applied Scientists, Data Engineers, Solutions Architects, and other job families

• Generating and developing new ideas into future products and initiatives

This is a strategic leader-of-leaders position for someone with big ideas who has a proven track record of spinning-up new initiatives and making them successful. The position is based in New York City.


• 8+ Years of experience operating, managing, and delivering results in customer-facing product management roles

• Advanced technical degree or equivalent job experience


• Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition, feature delivery and trade-offs, and end-to-end product delivery

• Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy for to a product

• High level of comfort communicating across large organizations and diverse business units

• Strong oral and written communication skills. This role will require the creation of whitepapers and other written deliverables

• Experience working with a diverse team of engineers, product managers, scientists, and senior leaders

• Experience with solution architectures, customer purchasing cycles, and sales experience

• Experience in non-technical aspects, such as business analysis and process optimization

• Experience with agile/iterative development and program management methodologies

• Experience designing scalable, reliable, and high-performance software architectures

• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

• Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role

• Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
