Biologics Research is part of Sanofi’s Global Research Platform, with teams in France, Germany and US. Biologics Research US team, which is located in Framingham and Cambridge, is comprised of more than 45 talented individuals and growing. The Head Biologics Research US plays a key role within Sanofi biologics organization and leads the dedicated team of researchers and engineers. The team is pro-active and constructive partner for all Therapeutic Areas to ensure progress of the biologics portfolio, and the key contributor to the platform’s long-term strategy for sustainable and innovative biologics. You will work closely with other local heads of Biologics Research, Technology Lead, heads of Therapeutic Areas and Research Platforms, BioPharmaceutics Development and the North America Hub. The person in this position is a member of Global Biologics Research Leadership Team and report to Global Head Biologics Research.   

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leads and executes Biologics Research US strategy
  • Provides expertise and efficient biologics project support, with required scientific rigor and quality
  • Ensures resource allocation aligned with portfolio priorities
  • Drives operational excellence, develops and implements process improvements and innovative technological solutions, aligned with global Biologics Research strategy
  • Works closely with Biologics Research heads in Germany and France, and local Biologics Research Technology Lead to maximize synergies and technology innovation
  • Aligns with Development for efficient project transitions, continuous improvements and innovation
  • Aligns with other Research Platform departments to maximize projects’ probability of success
  • Proposes newportfolio opportunities and provides specific expertise for opportunity evaluations

    Essential Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in natural sciences, bioengineering or related discipline
  • Sound understanding and record of accomplishment in drug development, particularly biologics, with  minimum 10 years industrial and/or academic experience in this domains
  • Successful in designing and executing R&D strategic and operating plans and budgets, as well as building and nurturing a strong talent pool
  • A solid network of industry and academic connections, recognized by scientific community
