We are looking for Harness Design Engineer ?for our client in Decatur, IL

Job Title: Harness Design Engineer

Job Location: Decatur, IL

Job Type: Contract – 12 Months / Contract to Hire / Direct Hire

Job Description:

  • Min 3 year of exp

Overview:

  • Position will primarily be responsible for support of current OHT product. In this position, others define and select the control modules, sensors, and other major components, and it is the responsibility of this engineer to connect the major components together without compromising system performance.
  • At the same time the overall system must be easy to assemble and cost efficient.
  • The engineering disciplines applicable include 24 volt electrical system design, machine design, strength of materials, structural fatigue, noise/vibration/harshness(NVH), and heat transfer.
  • The type of component-level design in scope includes wiring harnesses, battery cables, simple fabricated steel structures, and component mounting systems.
  • A majority of the work involves routing cables and harnesses to meet all requirements, followed by overseeing the process of creating the related detailed drawings and releasing the drawings for production implementation.
  • Typical Day
  • Use PTC Creo and related structured design procedures to route cables and wiring harnesses.
  • Create detailing instructions and releasing notices.
  • Procure new parts for testing fit up on the assembly line and participate in the fit up.
  • Complete designs and help implement changes into production.

Primary Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineeringrequired (electricalengineeringpreferred)
  • Will consider a new or recent grad who has a strong interest in working in Decatur and has good internshipexperience and good Creo Skills.
  • Electricalexperiencerequired Recent minimum of six months of experience with PTC Creo required.
  • Experience with Electrical Lines, TeamCenter, GEC, and BNU are a plus
  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Team player and detail oriented.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineeringrequired (electricalengineeringpreferred)
