  Reporting to the Hardware Design and Support Manager, the Hardware Systems Technician’s primary objectives include new test developments (Linux and Windows), continuous product improvement, manufacturing support, and ongoing hardware and software test support of the all products in production as well as new product introductions.

Responsibilities:

  • Software development and integration (low and high level)
  • Design, write, deploy and maintain test platform (Hardware and Software)
  • Perform test limit refinement; sequence changes to accommodate new hardware or software product versions; fundamental platform changes
  • Search for reduced costs through higher integration and innovative test strategies


Required Qualifications:

  • DEC in software programing as a minimum with extensive knowledge of computer hardware and digital systems
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position
  • 5+ years of C design/development experience
  • 3+ years of work experience in the development of test systems
  • Experience in coding in a Linux environment, including scripts
  • Experience in coding and debugging low level code (driver level)
  • Experience with Linux server installation, configuration and management
  • Knowledge of electronic design and schematics
  • Computer skills, MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)


Required Skills/Competencies/Behavior:

  • Experience with FPGA and VHDL
  • Experience with JIRA and Omnify
  • Experience working with ODM / OEM locally and offshore
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Fluent in both English and French
  • Strong leadership, communications and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively with different internal groups (R&D, Product Management, QC, Operations, QA, TechLine)
  • The ability to take the initiative to keep up with new technology and skills
  • Able to adapt to quickly in fast paced work environment
