Job Description :
This entry-level position contributes to the overall SBIRS Ground Segment Hardware Engineering (HWE) Team. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in the research, design, development, testing and maintenance of all hardware equipment both in the development labs and at specific customer sites until the equipment is successfully transitioned to the customer and Site maintainers.
The candidate will contribute to the overall success of the HWE Organization by assisting with all hardware component, assembly and sub-assembly designs and development activities to ensure a traceable mapping back to specific Hardware Requirement Specifications (HRSs).
The candidate will also assist the Hardware Technicians in ensuring that all equipment installations/customizations of racks, devices, assemblies and sub-assemblies match the related engineering drawing sets.
This position will also assist in ensuring that all systems and sub-systems provide the specific system functionality/behavior as specified in the system-level requirements.
The candidate will also be required to assist in updating system related documentation as necessary throughout the lifecycle of a project.
This position will also include performing a wide variety of Hardware Engineering related tasks and activities as part of contributing to the overall success of the team. Some of these activities will include participating in Technical Reviews/Interchanges and Peer Reviews.
This position ensures the completion of milestones associated with specific hardware-based projects. Frequent application of technical standards, theories and processes will be required.
Bachelor's degree in science and technology related programs such as Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, etc.
This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen
Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
Electronic or electrical engineering education and/or experience RF, waveform, antenna pattern, data mod/demod,etc understanding or strong desire to learn Mechanical aptitude Comm or networking knowledge Matlab Computer/electronic system diagnosis and repair
