SSS seeks a dynamic leader who is looking for a great opportunity to grow programs in epidemiology, clinical research and biostatistics aimed at understanding causes of disease. Our Group Vice President for Public Health Sciences will lead a talented group of researchers and data analysts in work primarily for Federal agencies engaged in studying environmental and genetic influences and impacts on human health, and will manage a large field office that also includes clinical trials and information systems staff.
The Public Health Sciences Group’s major client is NIEHS and the group has a solid business base, having recently re-won three major long-term contracts. Capabilities include a survey research center with multi-modal survey capabilities, and a laboratory for processing and storing bio-specimens. Recent wins in NCI and NICHD have expanded the group’s research platform.
The successful candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment in:
Advanced degree in relevant area (Ph.D. preferred), plus at least 12years of experience working on related public health research programs, and 6 years of management and business development responsibility for an organizational unit conducting epidemiological and/or biostatistical research. Must have experience with winning and managing government contracts and ensuring compliance with corporate management policies and procedures. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and at least 5 years of senior staff supervisory experience.
