JOB SUMMARY:
The General Manager Milwaukee Operations, reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing, is responsible for leading the creation of value in the areas of Product Manufacturing. The position will create, implement, and continuously improve a clean & safe environment that provides value to our customers while managing an efficient and productive operation. This is accomplished by designing, mapping out and stream lining strategic plans and tactical initiatives for the processes and systems of product design, product manufacturing, inventory management, and delivery of products to our TMLC Mexico operations. Close alignment & partnership across several key business functions is critical, including Supply Chain, Finance, IT, HR, and others.

The General Manager Milwaukee Operations serves as a liaison and coordinator between Milwaukee Manufacturing, Nogales Manufacturing & Distribution, and the TMLC Leadership Team. This role is also responsible for clearly linking the Company’s Strategic Initiatives for growth and innovation, and the implementation of tactical activities for execution at the Operational levels on Manufacturing, to meet and exceed the needs of the customer. The General Manager Milwaukee Operations is accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of the facilities and the proper utilization of resources.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manufacturing Operations:
•Ensure Safety and Security for associates is the top focus every day through the implementation and updating of policies, procedures, and equipment.
•Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of resources at the Manufacturing Facility.
•Procures the resources to set the production capacities and capabilities to support the forecast and business development.
•Direct plans for productions of the different focus factories and administrative activities to ensure the customer's requirements are met in an efficient manner.
•Direct and oversee job assignments to plant leadership and follow up on periodic schedules.
•Assure the preparation and maintenance of an up-to-date operational procedure manual following the ISO guidelines, and the policies and procedures dictated by the Company.
•Make recommendations to Senior Leadership on programs and systems to improve operations, including the identification and justification of Capital Investment.
•Maintain compliance on government requirements.
•Monitor space utilization and make recommendations and implement ways to increase capacity as needed by changing business volume.
•Monitor the space layout to ensure that it continues to meet the customer's and Master Lock’s requirements and standards.

Purchasing, Inventory Receiving & Control:
•Define the Inventory projections for the year and the financial impact on the operations under responsibility.
•Ensure current and accurate inventory control for each product line in each operation under responsibility.
•Support the ongoing cycle inventory verification program to ensure the accuracy of each product line.
•Support the annual program of physical inventory count.
•Work within the guidelines established for the Purchasing Department.
•Audit and approve warehouse purchases for the facility operation.
•Promote an environment of cost savings and cost control during purchasing activities.

Engineering & Maintenance:
•Assure the preparation and maintenance of an up-to-date operational procedure manual following the ISO guidelines, and the policies and procedures dictated by the Company on the areas of Product Development, Process Design & Control, New Products Manufacturing, and Process Changes & Enhancement.
•Maintain and improve the system for Preventive & Corrective maintenance of Equipment and Facilities.
•Keep control of Company’s assets in form of Equipment, Machinery, Tools, Dies, and Buildings.

Quality & ISO Systems:
•Assure systems are designed, implemented, and maintained with the purpose of achieving Quality and Continuous Improvements across areas of responsibility, with the preparation and maintenance of an up-to-date operational procedure manual following the ISO guidelines, and the policies and procedures dictated by the Company.
•Maintain ISO certifications for the Facility.

Human Capital & Organizational Development:
•Provide direction & coaching to plant leadership in areas of manufacturing, distribution, engineering, purchasing, inventory control, finance, quality, safety, etc.
•Develop and maintain a productive team-focused environment by partnering with Human Resources on programs for hiring, training, and professional development.
•Match the skill and background of managerial personnel to the functions and responsibilities work required.
•Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs to supervise, counsel, and discipline subordinates.
•Implement an appropriate, consistent performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases, and terminations.
•Partner with Human Resources to define and implement a succession planning program.
•Participate in the hiring process of Managerial and other key positions, utilizing Master Lock hiring guidelines and practices.

Safety & Property Protection:
•Develop, implement, and direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment, and support the policies and procedures defined by the EH&S Department.
•Assure compliance with appropriate government regulations.
•Reports on a periodic basis the results of the Safety statistics and makes sure the improvement plans are implemented when required.
•Follow up and support the policies and procedures defined by the Company.
•Create and manage programs to ensure that facilities and grounds meet the standard of excellence in housekeeping.
•Follow the guidelines provided by the 5 S’s program in the areas under responsibility.
•Ensure that all new hires are properly introduced to their respective job description/analysis

Finance:
•Prepare the annual financial plans for the Facility and meet or exceed the budget as agreed upon with the finance team.
•Define annual budgets for capital Investment requirements, as well as annual savings plans for the different areas under responsibility.
•Monitor monthly financial results to ensure all expenditures are within financial plans based on the guidelines provided by Finance Department.
•Direct the implementation of systems and processes and make recommendations to ensure the efficient operation and utilization of equipment for manufacturing.
•Generates the requirements of Capital Investment to provide the operations with the quantity and type of equipment to meet business needs and to minimize costs.
•Maintains integrity of the Company’s assets.

Customer’s relations:
•Initiate and maintain a good working relationship with customers (Internal and External).
•Direct the people under your supervision to respond to customer complaints, inquiries, inventory status, status of orders, etc., in a prompt, courteous, and effective manner.
•Create a strong liaison with the Customer Service Department and the Supply Chain team.
•Receive and attend visits from Customers or other visitors to the manufacturing facility.

Regulatory Compliance:
•Assure compliance with Regulations related to Labor, Taxes and Employee benefits, and other related areas.
•Assure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety regulations.
•Assure compliance with Customs for shipments in and out of Milwaukee.
•Assure compliance with SOX requirements.

Reporting & Communication:
•Provide regular productivity analysis, quality metrics, service to customers reports, process enhancement proposals, and general feedback.
•Track on-time and other performance measures as required.
•Provide necessary reports to peers and senior leadership as required.
•Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding manufacturing and distribution operations.

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or related field
•Minimum 10 years’ general manager experience in high-volume, low-tolerance machining manufacturing environments
