The Global Supplier Quality Manager position is responsible for establishing a corporate supplier quality assurance system and team that promotes customer satisfaction and that positively impacts the financial performance of API Heat Transfer.
Responsible for planning, developing, and managing supplier quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives that achieve the following:
Working with Supply Chain & Logistics and Purchasing in developing purchasing control processes, procedures & systems in compliance with applicable regulations
Directs process and product testing to ensure materials, parts, and products comply with established quality standards and regulatory guidelines.
Requires knowledge of company, industry, and governmental regulations affecting product quality.
Setting / updating purchasing control requirements to suppliers, classification of suppliers, and risk categorization.
Assisting to ensure integration and validation of purchasing procedures with supporting IT and data applications for effective operationalization.
Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
Owning supplier qualification, audit, and assessment. This includes supporting and defending API Heat Transfer in external and internal inspections / audits and supporting the closure of regulatory compliance gaps at suppliers and suppler non-conformances.
Participating in supplier selection process; maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and documented evidence of evaluation records.
Lead supplier development strategy by ensuring a supplier scorecard process is in place, generating and implementing appropriate supplier performance metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions;
Monitoring and reports on supplier quality metrics, quality agreements with critical suppliers, and quality of supplier records and drives supplier quality management review with relevant stakeholders to achieve resolution of issues
Actively participating in supplier quality related communication and feedback, develop and drive projects such as vendor to stock improvement, electronic certificates of compliance and parallel audit expansion
Driving compliance with applicable Quality Management Systems; engaging in Corrective Actions as needed
Evaluates the performance of the production process and quality of resulting products to improve existing methods of operation.
Interacts with suppliers and/or customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
Domestic and International travel is required; travel could between 50-60% or more depending upon what business needs are.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing) or Business Administration or Supply Chain discipline or equivalent number of years of experience.
Ten (10) years of experience in QA systems implementation and management
Six Sigma black-belt certification, with a proven track record of business performance improvement.
