The position holder will be a Global business leader for two business units; providing insight and foresight to peers and senior executives; advising and coaching senior executives; responsible for communications strategy and delivery for two business units; influencing and engaging externally across the value chain. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to develop and deliver communications strategies to support business and reputation growth and employee engagement for the global Vegetable Seeds business unit and North America Seeds business, including:
    • Internal communications and employee engagement
    • External communications including thought leadership and social media, in partnership with Marketing and External Relations
    • Social media strategy
  • Provide strategic communications support for change and transformation, and M&A and integration activities as needed for the Seeds business
  • Partner with and coach business leaders to build their communications capability
  • Working with Head Communications Seeds, develop communication plans to enable business growth and employee engagement across the global Seeds business
  • Lead on implementing global Syngenta programs across Seeds, for example the Syngenta Awards, Syngenta Pulse
  • Engage employees with Syngenta’s purpose, values, and culture
  • Establish metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness
  • Establish strong working relationships with Seeds business leaders and communicators across Syngenta
  • Be an active member of the Internal Communications function


  • 7-10 years of communications experience is highly preferred
  • Bachelor degree in communications or related discipline
  • Knowledge of communications best practice including social media and digital tools
  • Understanding of the seeds industry or agri-business is highly preferred
  • Stakeholder and influencer management
  • Cultural awareness
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience is the development of communication strategies to address complex business challenges
  • Experience leading communications to support significant business change and transformation with experience in developing effective ways to engage large organizations in organizational transformation
  • Ability to work within a matrix in a complex global organization, and across different functions, in a multicultural environment
  • Ability to work in a changing business environment
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Strong business acumen
