Global Product Management Leader

We have been retained to identify a Product Management Leader for a highly respected global manufacturer that is seeking to expand its product lines in and outside of North America. The winning candidate will be serve as a key member within the product management organization and will be responsible for leading a team of global product managers (4) to grow the assigned product line through comprehensive product portfolio strategies, new product development, commercialization, and lifecycle management for products targeted to the OEM and Commercial market segments. This position is the single point of contact accountable for all aspects of the global product line and product associated categories. The role will be highly interactive with customers, dealers, marketing, engineering, production and various suppliers responsible for the development of the product lines. As will be highly visible within the senior management ranks of this company, which should be a plus for qualified & career minded candidates looking for a challenging role that also provides the opportunity for future advancement. 

Other Key Functions And Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Develop global product portfolio strategy and lead the short and long-range planning process, as a member of the cross-functional Business Unit leadership team
  • Responsible for developing and executing global strategic initiatives, including product launch and go- to-market initiatives, to drive sustainable organic growth (identify, prepare, execute, and track plans to grow business)
  •  Manage P&L responsibilities for the product line to optimize growth in revenue and profitability
  • Lead the development and management of strategic product roadmaps and successfully incorporate them into your product strategy and planning process
  • Design and implement effective product development and commercialization plans to ensure successful execution of the business unit strategy
  • Bring the Voice of Customers into the organization to shape portfolio and individual product development strategies and plans
  • Accountable for product lifecycle management including new product introductions, improving operational goals, quality improvements, product sun setting and portfolio rationalization in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Manage and develop a Global Product Management Team including recruiting, hiring, designing organizational structure, setting objectives, and ensuring high performance of all members of staff in achieving platform objectives
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing to establish channel strategy, develop demand plan and participate in SIOP process
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing to establish channel strategy, develop demand plan and Partner with strategic pricing group to develop price analysis, realization and optimization for product category

Requirements and Desired Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degreerequired, MBA strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of Product Management, Marketing, Strategy, or related experience. 3+ years of direct team leadership experience. Global Product Management and leadership experiencerequired
  •  Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop plans for global strategic initiatives
  •  Demonstrated ability to understand P&L management and key financial factors influencing performance
  • Experience with P&L ownership preferred
  • Proven ability to develop and execute full-cycle product strategies and road maps (from strategy development & opportunity identification, through product development processes, through launch and commercialization)
  •  Proven ability to analyze, interpret and draw meaningful and accurate conclusions from data
  • Must be energetic, resourceful and hands-on individual with a strong bias for action, someone who commits himself/herself fully to stretch goals and who is dedicated to developing and delivering outstanding results
  • Able to work successful in a matrix environment and accountable for pricing, supply chain, marketing, engineering, & sales
  •  Manage portfolios of +$100M and above with significant complexity and expectations
  • Strong voice-of-customer and market analytic skills
  •  Ability to travel up to 25% (Domestic and International)
