POSITION OVERVIEW The Stanley Global Product Director leads the team that develops the next generation of great Stanley products. The Global Product Director directs the Stanley Product Management department, aligning product strategy and insights with concepting, design, engineering and manufacture. This person also continually searches for new growth opportunities and pursues them through rigorous evaluation, internal discussion and realization cross-functionally. These opportunities could be new channels, new products, new marketing concepts, new business models, or anything and everything. The Global Product Director is a thought partner in overall Stanley business and brand strategic development and a critical member of Stanley's leadership team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leads Stanley Product

 Develops product strategy in line with business and brand objectives, consumer insights and market trends

 Directs Stanley's PM department o Directs Product Discovery Manager in identification of insights needs and on time/quality execution of projects

o Directs cross-functional team through new product development

o Directs Product Line Manager in go-to-market strategy and launch, strategic elimination or improvement of existing products and customized special-make projects for specific market or customer needs

o Manages OpEx budget and tooling budget

 Functionally leads Stanley's global product effort + local stakeholders

 Travels as needed to factories, market walks, sales meetings, trade shows etc. Collaborates to conceive, research and validate growth opportunities

 Is the future-focused expert on shopper, user, market, category and adjacencies

 Sponsors and drives new strategic initiatives Collaborates with Sales and Marketing

 Functions as Stanley product expert and presenter as needed in client meetings, trade shows, sales meetings etc

 Functions as product lead on select strategic accounts

 Participates in development of pitch strategy, presentation development and recommended assortment Partners with Stanley and PMI Leadership

 Participates in various levels of strategic development

 Champions Stanley and PMI

 Develops their team and develops themselves PROFICIENCIES o Entrepreneurial spirit combined with sharp business acumen o Creative, analytical and critical thinking

 Able to navigate between the worlds of business/brand strategy and creative development

 Able to work with the Creative Development team to design unique products that win at market o Ability to work independently and as part of a team o Skill in managing direct reports and project teams

o Strong quantitative capabilities, such as financial modeling

o Understanding of design, engineering and manufacturing principles o Understanding of business principles o Project management capabilities o Outstanding in client-facing situations

o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Outstanding in design and delivery of presentations o Good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills

o Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines o Solid general computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

o 7+ years in product management experience, preferably with consumer facing products

o 5+ years in a management or director role o Experience working with international markets and overseas manufacturing highly preferred

o Experience in the outdoor industry highly preferred

o Bachelor's degree is essential, Masters preferred

o Experience using project management software such as Agile, BootCamp, Microsoft Project INTERACTION AND ENVIRONMENT

o Reports to: Global Vice President, Stanley o Work areas are inside a climate-controlled office with moderate background noise.
