We are hiring a Global Principal Instructional Design Specialist to join our
Clinical Instructional Design Team supporting Global Medtronic business units
with a focus in MITG Americas. As part of the Global Commercial Capabilities
team, this role will help to achieve our Mission to infuse growth through world-class learning experiences. The person in this role should love taking complex concepts and simplifying them through engaging learning experiences.

Day in a Life

•Create instructional design deliverables that adhere to modern learner principals and the concept of the flipped classroom
•Collaborate closely with the Clinical & Training Excellence Leader, writers and
multi-media specialist to develop various deliverables such as: digital training
manuals, job aids, infographics, classroom activities, assessments, workbooks,
etc. for our medical device sales teams and sales managers
•Ensure design documents adhere to Medtronic verbal identity standards, CLD CoE
•Organize and transform raw content into usable, logical, concise, functional
training documents content design standards, legal, regulatory and intellectual property standards
•Designing content to align with the learning needs of the target audience
•Re-purposing content to align the learning needs of the target audience
•Structuring content and activities to maximize learning and retention
•Incorporating multi-media support learning (visual aids for face-to-face,
various multimedia)
•Develop assessments for classroom activities and exams
•Collaborate with functional partners to execute with speed and quality
•Identify and champion new and creative approaches to business, operations and marketing opportunities and challenges.
•Provide senior management and cross-functional partners with updates, reports, content, and presentations regarding marketing initiatives.

•Able to travel up to 20%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree
•7+ years of experience in a role involving professional training, sales training or medical education (5 years with Masters)
•Microsoft Office Suite

Nice to Have:

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design/Curriculum Development preferred
•Experience with online collaborative task management tools such as Workfront
•Instructional design experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical environment preferred
•Surgical robotics knowledge helpful
•Experience leading global, cross functional projects concurrently
•Strong sensitivity to multicultural dimensions, particularly different learning
and behavioral styles
