Global Payroll Manager

Niagara’s GlobalPayroll Manager is responsible for leading and managing a teamresponsible for the centralizedpayroll activities of all U.S. andinternationallocations. The role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate processing ofpayroll,taxreporting, andpayroll system maintenance and is viewed as the organization’s subject matter expert for allpayroll related activities. Additionally, the GlobalPayroll Manager isresponsiblefor leading the team in global expansion initiatives and providing oversight of 3rd party vendors to ensure accuracy and compliance in multiple countries.

Detailed Description

  • Leads, directs, and oversees all payroll activities across US, Mexico, and future international locations.
  • Manages relationships with 3rd party vendors that assist with various domestic and international payroll activities.
  • Partners with internal and external teams to identify, design, implement, and rollout changes to systems and processes that help improve efficiencies.
  • Develops and implements payroll strategies focused on accomplishing the organization’s payroll processing objectives.
  • Leads and develops payroll team to effectively execute day-to-day operations.
  • Works closely with Finance, IT, HRIS, and Benefit teams to continuously improve business processes through automation and technology improvements.
  • Creates and analyzes reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Complies with all domestic and international legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on actions needed.
  • Oversees annual and quarterly payrollaudits and reviews.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all employee and otherpayroll related information.

  • Required:
    • 7-10 years  – Domestic and international payroll processing
    • 3-5 years  – Experience in Position
    • 3-5 years  – Supervising Employees

  • Preferred:
    • 10+ years  – Domestic and international payroll processing
    • 3-5 years  – Experience in processing payroll for a manufacturing organization
    • 5-7 years  – Experience in Position
    • 5-7 years  – Supervising Employees

Competencies

  • Ability to lead and develop team members of varying skill / experience
  • Expertise in using, maintaining, and managing payrollsoftware systems, preferably WorkdayPayroll
  • High level of proficiency in Kronos
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail; strong drive for results.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing, team environment, handle multiple tasks and concurrent projects simultaneously, adapt quickly to changes and the discipline to complete last minute requests as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record as honest, trustworthy and respectful with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a wide range of priorities, take ownership, and follow them to completion.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with employees at various levels of the organization.

Education

  • MinimumRequired: 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Finance
  • Preferred: 
    • Master's Degree in Business Administration or Finance

Certification/License:

  • Required:            Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Preferred:           Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)

Foreign Language

  • Required:            None Required
  • Preferred:           Minimum Professional Proficiency, Spanish
