General Purpose:

The purpose of the Global Partner Account Executive (GPAE) position is to serve a very small set of Corporate Payments largest global enterprise accounts, specifically those requiring complex team coordination due to the multi-national and, potentially, multi-organizational nature of the partner.

The objective of this position is to retain and grow significant profitable volume with these accounts. This position will be responsible for collaborating with our partners in a manner that creates opportunity for greater mutual value creation. The GPAE has accountability for delivering on strategic growth objectives with the partner as well as leading and managing partnerships with regional WEX teams that are responsible for the day-to-day operations of various subsidiaries of the account.

This role must understand all facets of our business with these strategic accounts, including process flows, technology, financial relationships, and key stakeholders with our partners. This role will be seen as the functional lead of our relationship with these partners. Depending on partner assignment, the role may be scoped to only focus on a single partner or multiple partners as appropriate.

This role will report to the VP of Global Strategic Accounts in Corporate Payments. This position will work closely with domestic and international leadership, go-to-market and account management teams as well as Operations, Finance, Product, WEX Bank, and associated Lines of Business that may assist in the creation of new account value to both WEX and the partner. In person support of these partners is critical, and as such this role should expect 35% of time spent at the corporate headquarters of partner organizations and another 5-15% spent traveling to supporting locations.

Performance will be measured upon predefined accomplishment of milestones, projects, or metrics that relate to this role’s portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

While this role is meant to adapt and flex to the needs of WEX and our strategic accounts, the initial duties and responsibilities of this role will include the following:

1. Relationship management

a. Lead all facets of WEX’s interaction with the partner

b. Form key trusted advisor roles with regional leadership and partner management teams, product, technology, and finance partners

c. Work closely with internal teams to track, log, and drive operational defect elimination

d. Flag relational and volume risks and opportunities

e. Be the first line of contact for any issues as they arise and play point on driving their timely resolution

f. Lead Quarterly Business Reviews with senior partner and WEX management

2. Create joint value creation roadmap and move both organizations toward delivery

a. Work with leadership and delivery teams to maintain active roadmap of new value creation concepts, their associated workplans for implementation, owners of those actions on both WEX and partner’s workforce, and their expected delivery date

b. Communicate and draw business cases for product design opportunities in partnership with WEX Corporate Payments Product team

c. Identify and raise barriers to successful delivery of products, services and growth and lead efforts to overcome

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • 8+ years’ experience in relationship management, consultative sales, operations, and/or solution architecture roles
  • Demonstrated financial acumen
  • Excellence in personal effectiveness and credibility with management and partners
  • Excellence in flexible problem solving, analysis, and issue resolution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Consultative sales
  • Payments product and/or technology experience
  • Parallel project management experience

Primary Location:

  • Portland, ME; Minneapolis area, MN; or remote possibly.
