Commodity Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Commodity Manager to help build and scale our procurement function in advance of rapid growth. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Leader, this role will play a foundational part in establishing sourcing strategy, supplier partnerships, and operational procurement excellence.

This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, scaling environment and wants to help architect procurement from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodity categories aligned to business growth plans and cost targets
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard suppliers to support NPI and production ramp
  • Lead RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations, and contracting to optimize total cost of ownership
  • Build long-term supplier relationship management (SRM) practices and performance scorecards
  • Drive supplier consolidation, risk mitigation, and dual-sourcing strategies where appropriate
  • Ensure continuity of supply for production and NPI builds through proactive planning and risk management
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Program Management to support product launches and scaling initiatives
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives, value engineering efforts, and should-cost analysis
  • Monitor commodity market trends, capacity constraints, and geopolitical risks impacting supply
  • Establish procurement processes, policies, and controls to support scalable growth
  • Support ERP (NetSuite) procurement workflows and system optimization
  • Develop reporting, KPI dashboards, and spend analytics to drive data-informed decision-making
  • Contribute to procurement organizational design and capability building as the company scales

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in production procurement or commodity management
  • Experience supporting hardware manufacturing environments (electronics, mechanical assemblies, thermal systems, or similar preferred)
  • Demonstrated success negotiating supplier agreements and driving cost reduction
  • Strong analytical capabilities and experience with spend analysis and forecasting
  • Experience in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Supply chain planning experience is a plus
  • Startup or high-growth environment experience is a plus
