Minimum qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience at a management consulting or private equity firm, or equivalent project management experience at a technology firm.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or graduate degree in a management, technical or engineering field.
  • 12 years of relevant work experience in consulting, software, internet and/or media industries.
  • Experience leading complex operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to executives and communicate with highly technical management team.

The Global Business Strategy (GBS) team is part of the Go-to-Market Operations organization that provides insightful review, perspective and direction on the strategy and operating performance of Google's on-line advertising businesses. They are a central team that typically engages on projects and work streams that impact multiple areas of Google's business. They are integral partners to both our counterparts embedded within business lines and to executives across Google's business organization. As a GBS Manager, you will lead projects and teams that impact the business performance of Google. You are highly experienced at solving ambiguous issues leading analytical work streams, applying sound business judgment and communicating complex issues effectively. In doing so, you will manage teams within GBS, collaborate with your counterparts in the various business lines and present to senior executives within Google more broadly. You have experience in a consulting environment (or similar), and you are a self-starter who can work in a rapidly changing industry. You tolerate ambiguity and demonstrate problem-solving leadership with limited oversight.

The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior executive leadership to define, launch, and drive strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses and developing final recommendations.
  • Lead cross-functional, global teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Communicate findings to senior management and to the broader organization.
  • Drive recommendations through to implementation and results.
