Position Summary

The Global and Business Manager, LVMCC will have product and business management responsibility for Rockwell Automation’s NEMA and IEC IntelliCENTER business.  This role is responsible for business strategy, new product development planning, requirements definition, product pricing & documentation, all commercial activities to achieve growth objectives, management of the P&L, project execution & cross functional coordination to achieve business success.  The team consists of 25-30 direct/indirect reports focusing on product management, commercial engineering and business configuration services.  The Business Manager reports to the Business Director, LVMCC and Intelligent Package Power.
FUNCTIONAL EXPERTISE Translates present and future package power offering to customers outcomes and quantifies differentiation from alternative solutions.  Champions the key technology enablers that allow Rockwell Automation and our Partners to deliver a network enabled and digital transformation ready package power system. Represents the Business interests & customer value in yearly Industry, Regional and Product Business Strategies. Leads the collection & management of competitive intelligence in both the NEMA & IEC package power markets. Manage pricing, quoted margins, project execution and staff levels to achieve the profit objectives of the business. 
LEADERSHIP/CHANGE Hosts Business Strategy Reviews yearly to evaluate progress towards objectives & develop mid-course corrections.  Takes initiative & sets a tone of integrity and ethics.  Coaches & motivates team toward achieving goals and objectives.  Increases the productive capacity of the team by initiating new ideas, processes and systems.  Encourages openness to diverse opinions & approaches.  Anticipates a need for change and adapts own goals and behaviors to respond to change and works with others to pursue continuous improvement and to implement change.  Applies integral knowledge of Rockwell Automation businesses, culture and value proposition to help increase quality, productivity & cost effectiveness of processes that span functional areas. 
INTERPERSONAL Develops effective working relationships with sales, customers, channel partners and key stakeholder within Rockwell Automation Leadership team.  Contributes to teams by providing technical and commercial process expertise, guidance and leadership.  Routinely brings appropriate people together to accomplish project and business objectives.  Helps set business objectives and provide strategic direction.  Ensures project alignment with department and organization objectives.  Keeps others informed of business issues and direction.  Allocates resources needed for employee development.  Invests time in development of others. Effectively presents complex business issues to high level audiences.
BUSINESS Participates in the development & execution of commercial marketing programs & sales initiatives. Advocates for the limited distribution model in the core NEMA NA market while supporting alternative solutions and delivery models.  Accountable for supporting business growth by expanding customer relationships.  Leads development of processes for identifying customer needs, measuring customer satisfaction and meeting customer requirements for an intelligent power package solution.  Serves as a business/technology advisor to senior management & others. Approaches problem solving with a global perspective.  Takes steps to maximize contributions to business’s financial results both with personal accomplishments and by influencing others.  Manages & develops subject matter experts located in the BU and distributed in the field, reporting to the Regional Proposal Managers to support design, configure & delivery customer value.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of 20 or more as part of a larger highly matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and completing complex projects and/or programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 

  • Previous experience or Experience with Motor Control Centers, Power Systems, and Engineered to Order business leveraging automation systems would be a plus.
  • Experience in a global environment managing a P&L would be a plus.
  • MBA and PMP certification preferred.
