YOUR IMPACT

IB Operations is seeking a highly motivated associate who is looking to work closely with Investment Banking on the execution of REFG transactions. As part of the team, this professional will be given the opportunity to partner closely with the Real Estate Financing Group (REFG) banking teams to provide support on day-to-day functions and will be driving commercial leverage by improving processes though BI (Business Intelligence) tools.

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and control to preserve and enhance the firm’s assets and its reputation. For every trade agreed, every new product launched or market entered, every transaction completed, it is Operations that develops the processes and controls that makes business flow.

The REFG Execution team is responsible for providing deal execution and control functions in support of REFG Origination, Securitization and Warehouse banking teams. Responsibilities will include learning daily functions, establishing strong relationships with the business, and participating in key BI initiatives.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Operational support for Origination banking teams, which includes submission of conflicts checks, project creation, legal staffing for NDAs, review of legacy deal documents & set up of key transaction terms in ARES Deal Manager (ADM) system
  • Operational support for Securitization team, which includes CUSIP request & set up, tracking invoices from third parties, helping prepare PnL data and drafting the funds flow for smooth settlement.
  • Reviewing REFG processes and automating reporting by developing and leveraging Business Intelligence tools e.g., Warehouse PnL tracking, Securitization HMDA reporting
  • REFG transaction support from pre-launch through to completion of all post pricing functions
  • Provide guidance to REFG teams with regards to operational processes affecting deal activity and serve as point of contact for system functionality
  • Respond to a changing and dynamic environment while maintaining integrity in our core ideologies of risk management, control and client service
  • Liaise with IB, Engineering and Operations’ counterparts for seamless deal execution
  • Act as a key conduit for Operations, delivering the full scope and functionality of the division to the REFG teams
  • Drive initiatives designed to promote strategy and efficiency


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage priorities in a deadline driven role
  • Ability to interact with all levels effectively and extensively (from entry level analysts through managing directors)
  • Proven experience working with Business Intelligence tools (Alteryx, Tableau)
  • Solid understanding of operational control framework
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and email management
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think critically and creatively about process improvement to ensure we are adapting to meet the needs of the business and the firm
  • Undergraduate degree

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $80000-$135000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
