SUMMARY:

The Automation and OT system engineer provides support to all departments of the Silica business line with a focus on North America. They support matters related to the development and refurbishing of new and existing sites; plants; or any other kind of automation, intrumentation, and operation technology system investment projects. S/he is also responsible for investigating project feasibility related to automation, instrumentation, electrical, and OT systems set-up as well as its supervision during the execution phase. The also support the integrate of new systems within the existing organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analysis regarding the feasibility of existing automation systems, instrumentation, and electrical installations/possible investments.
  • Define automation strategy and budget for investment projects in Silica processes, support execution of projects within a team.
  • Development of different production intelligence systems (like process information systems, labor information system, manufacturing execution system, Asset life cycle systems).
  • Support of the operational technologies (OT) security management system incl. all phases of the continuous improvement process
  • Establish automation, instrumentation and electrical competences in the PT Silica Group

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Automation or Control Systems
  • 5+ years of experience in project execution or design
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with an emphasis on oral and written communication
  • Broad knowledge of automation system design, production, project management, maintenance management, policies, and standards
  • Technical, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to overcome challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience with chemical or pharmaceutical industry preferred
