Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Technical Task Manager with a background as a Geologist, Environmental Scientist, or Environmental Engineer. The individual will be based out of the Fair Lawn, NJ office, this is a hybrid position, with occasional overnight travel.

This is a position for a dynamic individual looking for career growth in environmental consulting and the environmental remediation market. The individual will support environmental investigation, remediation and permitting projects, and will be working alongside project managers supporting their projects.

Role accountabilities:

• Demonstrated experience managing large datasets and organizing the complex into a manageable set of figures, charts, slides, and diagrams for use by the Arcadis team, outside consultants, the client, and regulatory agencies
• Manage assignments and schedule of inside and outside expert consultants
• Solid working knowledge of geology/hydrogeology and contaminant fate and transport.
• Manage the database manager and the large quantity of hydrogeologic and groundwater quality data
• Hydrogeologic and groundwater-quality data analysis and presentation
• Groundwater elevation contouring and flow field analysis.
• Working knowledge of groundwater remedial action technologies
• Administrative task-management functions, including planning and estimating scope and costs.
• NJ LSRP program experience a bonus
• Technical report and work plan preparation
• Client and regulatory correspondence
• Evaluate data to (1) support conceptual site models for environmental investigations, (2) delineate the nature and extent of contamination, and (3) modify and optimize post-remedy long-term-monitoring programs
• Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders
• Coordinating work schedules with Arcadis staff and subcontractors
• Health and safety stewardship
• May require some regional travel for field visits up to 10% of the time

Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience with task management to include controlling scope, schedule, budget, and ensuring adherence to Health and Safety Requirements
• Working familiarity with NJDEP regulations
• Cost estimating experience - candidate should have experience with routine environmental tasks (e.g., field sampling technologies and methods, lab coordination, subcontractor oversight, etc.) to develop cost estimates for establishing budgetary estimates
• Previous environmental sampling experience
• Previous experience with subcontractor procurement and management (e.g., preparation of request for bids, preparation of scope of work, ensure work is completed in accordance with scope of work and H&S requirements)
• Candidate should be health and safety focused, and able to work successfully in a team setting

Candidates with the following experience are encouraged to apply:

• Up to 12 years of relevant experience with NJ remediation projects
• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science, or related field
• 40-hour HAZWOPER (8-hour annual refresher if applicable)
• Experience around heavy equipment, excavation, chemical injection, and construction work

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of NJ State regulations
• Preference for a Geologist/Hydrogeologist - Master level a bonus
• Experience working on projects with greater than $100,000 net revenue
• OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
• P.G. or P.E. License

The salary range for this position is $103000 - $154500 dependent on experience
