The General Manager of Information Technology – Alliance Partnerships will be responsible for leading the vision, strategy and management of IT solutions to support Delta’s Alliance partner agreements, including strategic Joint Ventures, Codeshare agreements and SkyTeam membership. Additional accountability includes managing the technical support for Global Distribution System (GDS) and Alliance partner issues related to Teletype and EDIFACT Message processing.


  • Manage the relationship with the Alliances business team to ensure close collaboration and communication on a daily basis
  • Support business partners through processes to develop, implement and supporttechnology solutions to meet business objectives that align to strategic initiatives
  • Participate in IT Working Groups with Joint Venture partners, Codeshare partners, and SkyTeam
  • Partner with appropriate IT teams to deliver all funded project initiatives related to Alliance Partnerships
  • Collaborate with TPF, Channel Technology, Revenue Management, and Enterprise Architecture teams to deliver solutions in a fast paced environment while balancing reliability, high availability, scalability, security and performance
  • Establish and maintain appropriate test strategies to deliver continuous system stability during all releases
  • Ensure rigorous performance measurement/management procedures are in place to supportagile/iterative development and quick-turnaround on project and product delivery
  • Manage an on-shore/off-shore support team responsible for providing technical support for the marketing relationship with GDSs from around the world
  • Maintain a clear command of existing and emerging technologies, competitive capabilities, and vendor capabilities within the domain space to drive innovative solutions that continue to differentiate Delta
  • Communicate a compelling view of the IT organization’s purpose and values in a way that helps others understand the importance and impact of their contributions
  • Work with team members to develop specific behaviors, technical/soft skills or knowledge needed to ensure sustained performance and to prepare for success in new responsibilities               


  • 5+ years of IT management leadership experience
  • 5+ years of experience delivering complex information technology solutions, ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Master’s degreepreferred, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experiencerequired
  • Ability to be effective in a high stress environment
  • Availability to travelinternationally up to 25% of the time
  • Extensive leadership experience in managing complex projects within cross functional teams
  • Experience managing and executing multiple priorities in a timely manner

  • Excellent leadership skills with experience leading teams and direct reports
