Position Summary

The General Manager, Data Solutions is an executive role responsible for growing our Data Solutions business segment, including existing data assets and newly developed products and services with an increasing focus on developing differentiated real world evidence solutions. We partner with a wide variety of healthcare organizations across segments including government agencies, life sciences, digital health, and medical device companies. The GM will own sales and commercial strategy, go-to-market, sales, account management/customer success, and product management across these segments. The GM will be tasked with defining, delivering, and realizing value across all current and prospective BHI Data Solutions clients, including understanding our clients' business goals, buying behaviors, and drivers for purchase and directing the sales, account management, and product teams in ensuring we effectively articulate how our products and services support those need. This includes developing proof points of how a customer can use our solutions to manage cost and quality, improve delivery of care, define market opportunities, and measure ROI.

Reporting to the CEO, this position will directly manage the sales, account management, and product management functions as well as collaborate closely with marketing, growth operations, and data operations/governance to develop and execute the overall segment growth strategy and value delivery to our Data Solutions clients.

Job Responsibilities
  • Define commercial strategy for BHI's Data Solutions including segments, channels, partners, products, and analytic consulting services.
  • Partnering with BHI's Chief Medical Officer to expand BHI's Real World Evidence capabilities and product offerings.
  • Develop and execute on the data strategy to expand BHI's data footprint and offer broader solutions built off of linked and integrated data assets.
  • Oversee sales team from client prospecting to pipeline management to deal closure.
  • Oversee account management team to develop strategies for renewal, extension, upselling, and value realization, including opportunities for marketing based on closer relationships with existing clients and understanding of their value derived from BHI Data Solutions.
  • Structure and negotiate business terms and contracts with line-of-business, procurement, senior management, and C-level executives.
  • Leverage BHI's comprehensive data assets to drive change in how our company partners with outside organizations to deliver value and improve healthcare outcomes.
  • Drive product management to grow our Data Solutions offerings to expand BHI's current client portfolio.
  • Identify product improvements by remaining current on customer needs, industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Read between the lines of the prospects statements to help ideate with them to identify creative solutions to their needs.
  • Navigate through and overcome various objections from potential buyers.
  • Understand, support, and work through BHI's data governance standards and procedures with current and prospective clients to ensure adherence.
  • Know when to say no to a deal so we can move on to other more promising opportunities.
  • Develop account plans for key existing accounts including renewal strategy, upsell/expansion opportunities, analytic consulting support, and joint marketing opportunities.
  • Drive continued enhancements to our processes including our funnel development, lead prioritization, pricing, positioning, and deal progression.
  • Manage and develop team members to their highest potential performance level.
  • Support BHI's core principles, including customer value, employee development, trust and transparency, innovation, and process excellence.

Job Requirements
  • Master's degree in business or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of demonstrated successful analytics and/or data licensing, commercial strategy, account development, and/or product management.
  • Management/executive experience in selling/delivering data and analytic solutions to the life sciences industry.
  • Experience managing sales executives and developing commercial go-to-market strategies.
  • A history of selling licenses/subscriptions to large, complex organizations.
  • Management experience in developing and executive data governance principles and processes.
  • Excellent relationship development, communication, customer service, and presentation skills.
  • Ambitious, resilient, persistent, competitive, and highly consultative internally and externally.
  • Goal and results oriented, optimistic, smart, value-added mindset, proactive and curious.
  • Ability to manage in a matrix-based organization with shared corporate resources and goals.
  • Established track record of developing and adhering to scalable processes.
  • Experience with Salesforce strongly preferred.
  • Track record of attracting, retaining and growing talent across levels of the organization.
  • Has worked and led teams while adhering to compliance requirements, including HiTrust, SOC2 and NIST requirements.
