Google Cloud Architect

(Internally known as a Principal Technical Consultant)

The Cloud Architect (Principal Technical Consultant “PTC”) will serve as a technical thought leader and SME for our public cloud ecosystem of partners, customers, and service providers. The Cloud Architect works as part of the consulting team to support the design and implementation of the cloud solution. The Cloud Architect supports the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipeline automation strategies. The Cloud Architect recommends, evaluates, and implements methods to optimize and enhance the application within the cloud environment to maximize performance and minimize costs. This is an exciting opportunity to augment your current skills, as well as learn new technologies while developing and implementing solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements complex, mission-critical cloud-based enterprise IT solutions for clients.
• Lead requirements workshops with client representatives from both IT and business units.
• Develops infrastructure designs that optimize the potential for application refactoring and re-platforming within commercial or government clouds IaaS and PaaS services
• Creates and presents solution designs, options, ideas, and innovations to clients’ senior leadership teams.
• Lead a team of technical delivery consultants on complex projects.
• Own the technical deliverables for projects.
• Develops and maintains Technical Roadmaps and Innovation Plans.
• Develops and implements cloud automation tool strategy.
• Establishes project estimates & plans, identifies risks & mitigations, and oversees development & delivery of technical solutions.
• Mentor and support teammates
• Actively lead collaboration within our technical communities

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience and 4+ years of GCP experience, preferably in a consulting role.
• Multiple GCP certifications such as: Cloud Engineer,Certified Architect, Cloud Developer, Cloud Security, Cloud DevOps; Terraform Associate.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing GCP core services around Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases, Containers, Security, Identity, GKE, BigQuery, etc.
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform
• Experience with using and managing deployment via services such as GitHub, Ansible, Jenkins, etc. Knowledge and usage of branching strategies is required.
• Hands-on experience in programming with Java, Python or any other language.
• Excellent written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of modern cloud-native application design principles, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI\CD Pipelines, Microservices, Containers, etc.
• Familiar with Windows Server and Linux virtualized Operating Systems environments
• Experience delivering services via Agile methodologies
