Our client is seeking a high-energy, clear-thinking and technically adept Oracle Applications DBA to administer and enhance our existing enterprise database solutions while assisting in the deployment of our next generation solutions. The successful candidate will assume a 24x7 technical / administrative role in the administration, performance tuning, and maintenance of the Oracle Applications environments, as well as assist with database administration support for all other Production and development environments. · The candidate will complement the existing DBA team providing independent, proactive management of the existing Oracle E-Business Suite and databases (improvements, tuning, overall administration, etc). Will be expected to take the initiative and proactively identify and suggest/implement solutions to problems before they become systems performance impacting issues. Review user/systems support issues and perform or lead root cause analysis and provide working solutions. The position will require occasional non-standard/off hour’s maintenance to resolve issues and implement system changes in order to minimize downtime for end users. 

· Provide Oracle Applications and database administrative support to the development team, which includes, but is not limited to, managing development databases, tuning SQL, and handling code migrations from development to testing to production. The candidate must be adept in providing a quality assurance checkpoint related to SQL efficiency, performance, and load and functional fit prior to its release into production environments.

Requirements/ Duties

Effective communication skills are critical, both written and oral, and the capability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team. 

Must be clear thinking, fact-based and to the point. 

Strong customer service skills are required. 

Skill requirements include solid knowledge and experience of Oracle Application Server and Fusion Middleware technology stack.

Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, high-availability strategies in a 24x7 production environment.

Expertise in various Oracle Financials version including 11.5.10, R12 and Fusion.

Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Middleware stack including WebLogic, SOA Suite, Web Tier, Oracle Access Manager and BPM suite.

Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and patching procedures.

Experience with partitioning, replication, multi-level security, clustering, distributed transactions, OLTP, OLAP, and XML.

Experience with upgrade from previous versions of Oracle databases.

Develop and implement replication, archiving and backup and recovery strategies (DR Failover testing capabilities).

Anticipate hardware requirements and storage capacity planning for Development, Testing, QA, Staging, and Production for scalable database growth and performance

Proactively monitor and optimize for better performance

Resolve locking conflicts/blocking and resource utilization

Administer, maintain, develop and recommend policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company's databases and systems

Identify and resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues and other distributed data issues

Responsible for problem escalation to Development team and third parties as appropriate including open service requests with Oracle.

Experience with data guard

Proficient with recent Oracle database versions (12) and features.

Experience with managing Oracle systems on UNIX platform a plus (Sun Solaris).

Knowledge of AWS and other cloud solutions a plus

Knowledge of NoSQL database a plus

Unix shell scripting (sh & ksh required, perl a plus)

Experience with Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools like Grid Control.

SQL & PL/SQL performance tuning

User / schema management

RMAN backup and recovery

Database systems documentation
