Join the AAP Digital Products Team and start reimagining the future of automotive retail. Disrupt the way consumers buy Auto Parts and join a fast growing eCommerce team to take on the industry’s biggest challengers.
The focus here is on our customers -- how we make them happy, earn their trust and create loyalty. The Digital Development team is responsible for rapidly developing and deploying solutions that will drive the customer experience and, ultimately, enhance our bottom line as an organization. The Digital team plays an integral, high-visibility role in working across the company’s Marketing, Digital, and IT organizations.
As the Full-Stack Developer, Project Lead, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, and updating the company’s main e-commerceretail platform. Successful candidates will operate in an agile environment, embrace DevOps culture and practices, and help mentor other team members as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Be the hands-on leader in designing, planning and building AAP's next-generation B2C e-commerce platform. This is not just another version number; it's real transformation.
Manage and distribute shared responsibilities across your team.
Make key decisions with respect to the team's overall approach, as an extension of your meaningful participation in our strategic and tactical conversations.
Facilitate peer review and cross-pollination between skillsets on the team.
Lead by example, drive consensus and help the team to be greater than the sum of its parts.
Be responsible for your team's best practices and good governance across the spectrum: secure, compliant, DRY not WET, and truly integrated into the larger whole.
Share knowledge generously, helping AAP be a place where individuals come to grow.
Facilitate true integration across various components across the spectrum of platforms and channels.
Comprehensive web/markup incl. HTML5, CSS3, w/SASS/SCSS, JS transpilers.
Ci/CD pipeline experience: multi-stage environments, Jenkins/Teamcity, build/deploy in Agile context.
Multi-yearexperience with server-side languages including Ruby, PHP, etc.
Experience with APIs (RESTful and otherwise) and API integration.
Experience working in an agile fashion. Note the lowercase 'a'. We're referring to actual agility. We do speak Agile/Scrum, and we hope you have experience and familiarity with it.
Experience in using/integrating with digital marketing tools and technologies: 3P tags and tag management, SEO/SEM/SEP. Again, we have professionals for this, but your comfort level and experience will add value.
Experience at optimizing e-commerce platform performance, including page-load speeds, conversion rates, etc. Real-world experience working with optimization specialists is a plus.
Familiarity with serverless architecture, microservices, AWS Lambda, etc. will be a plus.
Good eyes and common sense. While you'll work with specialists at UI, UX and design, we should all bring a sense of balance, layout, palette, etc. Your good ideas will matter.
Version control: GitHub, BitBucket, Stash, etc. Essentially we'd like you be very comfortable with the Git protocol set, and all that that entails.
Experience with Jira, Confluence and Atlassian tools in general. This is a plus, not a show-stopper.
Cloud experience. The focus here is AWS; but Azure, Google Cloud are pluses also.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Leadership is in the team/project context; no direct reports at first.
