Position Responsibilities:

  • Be a role model for the company culture.
  • Establish compensation, training, and sales program.
  • Work closely with Vice President to develop and execute lead programs.
  • Meets and exceeds top line revenues.
  • Knowledge of hotel's competitive set and recommends sales/pricing strategies and service/product improvements to stay competitive.
  • Development of markets not currently at the property's sources of business and market segments to ensure the top line revenue is not being affected in any way - deploy appropriate initiatives if necessary.
  • Creates and presents promotional rates, packages, and programs to Vice President-Sales/General Manager with recommendations on deployment and marketing of these packages.
  • Responsible for appropriate identification of key markets and supporting deployments and travel schedule strategies.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and communicates to appropriate individuals anything that could impact the company directly or indirectly.
  • Continually assess the strengths/challenge of each area of discipline maximizing the use of available resources.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and training to sales team.
  • Establishes a sense of urgency with the team to understand and achieve the needs of the company.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a result(s) driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Responsible for creating appropriate Power Point presentations and sharing with the team and ownership groups.
  • Handles special projects and other duties as assigned in a timely manner.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years as Hotel Director of Sales or Associate Director of Sales experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Hotel Management degree preferred.
  • Must be results-oriented with ability to be flexible.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills essential.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Delphi)
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial data
  • Positive attitude and supportive team-based approach toward the attainment of the hotel's short-and-long-term goals.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours and days.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Must be able to motivate associates in a positive manner.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong supervisory, managerial, development and coaching skills
  • Excellent leadership skills demonstrating adaptability, flexibility, and team orientation
  • Strong ability to exercise strong judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions
