Job Description

The Franchise Development Manager will lead franchise new store growth in the Northwest territory. Success requires the ability to think strategically, build relationships, communicate effectively across a wide range of clients and execute with a high level of precision. New unit growth will come from both existing and new franchisees. The Franchise development manager will be responsible for creating a multi-year market plan for each DMA within their territory, utilizing internal and external partners, including brokers, developers, operations and analytics to maximize growth opportunities in their territory. The result of the market plan will guide the specific tactics to achieve the annual franchise sales goals of 20% net new unit growth and a robust pipeline of capable, growth minded franchisees.

The role reports to the Regional Development Director.


  • Meet in person with existing growth-approved franchisees and highly qualified franchise candidates to sell new Franchise Agreements
  • Market trade area opportunities to franchisees to generate new sales
  • Create the multi-year growth strategy for the territory and detailed market execution plans
  • Develop franchisee growth plans that inform the market execution plans
  • Maintain broker and developer relationships within the market
  • Review and accept sites submitted by Franchisees
  • In partnership with Regional Development Director and Sales Associate, create the strategy for new franchisee lead generation, approval of territories and signing of Area Development Agreements
  • Source new franchisees, conduct in-market new franchisee meetings and host discovery days
  • Speak passionately and knowledgeably about the brand and business, following the sales process with prospective franchisees thoroughly
  • Executes Quarterly sales objectives with regular tracking and progress reports
  • Partner with Franchise administration on executing relocations, franchise renewals and franchise transfers


  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing/Real Estate or related field
  • 5+ years hands-on development experience in the franchise restaurant industry with proven ability to simplify the complex and produce results
  • Problem solver who seeks win/win solutions, demonstrates tenacity, and is not easily discouraged
  • Capability to address problems proactively and demonstrate a sense of urgency
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and advanced organizational skills
  • Ability to think and act quickly and effectively under pressure while maintaining a calm, professional attitude, even in crisis situations
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Ability to review and understand financial statements and other legal documents
  • Lives in the pacific northwest, preferably near Portland or Seattle with ability to travel extensively to conduct market visits and prospective franchisee meetings
