The following role is within the API Strategy/Platform group (under the marketing umbrella). As an API product manager, you will work with various groups including IT, System Architecture, design authorities, partners, support, financialtechnology firms, and clients. You will need to have experience on the latest technologies particularly in the financial services and financialtechnology industry and posses a deep understanding of various regulation standards such as PSD2, PSR, NACHA initiatives, etc. You will need to bring a strategic perspective to the design of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Support with the creation of API enterprise-wide/product strategy and roadmap
  • Collaboration with platform business verticals across the company to execute strategy
  • Leads the market analysis process for new products/services to determine customer needs, industry direction, competitive product and market positioning and overall product strategy
  • Evaluates new product/service viability and builds recommendations of go or no-go decision for senior leadership.
  • Develops business plan, including strategic requirements, such as product design and strategic fit, go-to-market strategy, plus financial business case; pricing, cost, revenue forecasts, capital costs, profit.
  • Works with development teams, 3rd-party vendors, associations, and internal stakeholders to execute on development, launch and implementation plans.
  • Identifies and interprets customer/stakeholder needs and translate feedback and user testing results into feature/functionality requirements.
  • Provide strategic support for sales and marketing post launch through technical and market training, customer meetings, demonstrations, and event support.
  • Closely collaborates with management, providing rich content and strategic thinking to develop and maintain product positioning and messaging, utilizing various delivery vehicles (such as white papers, blogs, sales tools, etc).
  • Assists Sales and Business Development teams as needed in securing or maintaining existing key clients.
  • Conducts competitive analysis of vendors and their product offerings to evaluate and refine product positioning and value proposition.
  • Create and present presentations to both internal and external audiences, virtually or in person.
  • Attends industry trade shows/events and other meetings as needed, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degreepreferred.
  • Financial products experiencerequired
  • Must demonstrate superior business and technical knowledge related to financial services and API technologies.
  • High degree of individual initiative and ownership.
  • Complex technical product experience (specifically in the API ecosystem).
  • Minimum 7 years of product experience, at least 4 years in a product management role.
  • Professional background in strategic and tactical product management.
  • Proven track record of bringing successful products to market on time.
  • Knowledge of strategic and tactical product management and product development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of financialforecasting, creation of budgets and financial justification for product business decisions.
  • Knowledge of different product pricing strategies.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a history of delivering revenue-generating solutions at scale.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Accomplished presentation skills and comfort level in front of C-level executives.
  • Requirements gathering skills.
  • Ability to synthesize disparate and complex technology and summarize key points concisely for consumption by different levels of the organization, including executive team.
  • Market research and analysis skills, including sizing and market need.
  • Skilled at evaluation of business and product opportunities and strategic product planning.
  • Assessing impact on organization and operational environment of new product initiatives.
  • Financial analysis skills—to assist finance department in building forecasting models and use those models to build financial business case for products.
  • Flexible to changes in direction, product and market forces.
  • Ability to act as a bridge across the organization and effectively evangelize to all stakeholders to move projects forward.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • Creative problem solving ability.
