Financial Reporting Manager

(Manufacturing / Distribution Accounting experience)


We are a very successful and growing, mid-sized, organization seeking a full time, permanent, Financial Reporting Manager.

The ideal candidate will have great interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy being part of the entire organization. You'll have the opportunity to liaise with the individual departments of the company as well as any outside Vendors/Contractors. 

We are seeking Accounting Management experience from the manufacturing / distribution industries.  A Cost Accounting background is helpful in addition to having the necessary General Ledger and Audit knowledge.  

Your ideas and input will be welcomed and you will be included in the many aspects of the business operations. You will not have any "public reporting", but will wear many hats and be valued for your contributions to the department and organization. 

You must enjoy both the Accounting / Finance function as well as be a "people" person, as you will be interacting with all levels of personnel within the organization. 

This role reports into the Controller and you will manage 1-3 employees. This opening requires someone who is deadline driven. Someone who is very attentive to detail and accuracy, has great follow up and follow thru and is organized. Experienced with GAAP procedures and comfortable with managing any Audits and the process therein. 

There is occasional/minimal travel for this role (i.e., Cycle counts at various Warehouses)


The Overall function of this Role is as follows:


?             Maintain the integrity of the company's general ledger and daily accounting activities in accordance with GAAP

?             Direct the month-end and year-end financial close processes

?             Lead the EOY audit 

?             Administer payroll and the time & attendance system



Principal Responsibilities:


?             Maintain the company's general ledger and financialreporting systems in accordance with GAAP

?             Coordinate the monthly closing activities, including account analysis and reconciliation.

?             Coordinate all audit requirements with the company's public accounting firm

?             Administer the company's bi-weekly payroll and the supporting Time and Attendance system

?             Coordinate cash disbursement activities with A/P & Electronic Transactions with our Bank

?             Assist Controller in the preparation of respective schedules included in the month-end reporting package

?             Prepare and analyze all supporting schedules, including certain vendor worksheets

?             Assist Controller and other managers in the annual budget process


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


?             BS degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.

?             3+ years in public accounting preferred.

?             7+ years of Corp. Accountingexperience in a mid/large size Mfg. or Distribution environment

?             General ledger responsibility

?             A high level of proficiency of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures (GAAP)

?             Significant experience in the EOM, EOQ, EOY close processes

?             Payrollexperiencepreferred

?             A high attention to detail and accuracy

?             Advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint

?             Very knowledgeable of ERP systems, knowledge of MS/Dynamics would be a plus

?             Prior supervisory experiencepreferred
