- Performs or advises on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.

- This is a DOD Financial Management position. Incumbent must complete training and meet requirements for certification at Level 2 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain certification may result in adverse action.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: utilizing automated financial management systems to analyze financial accounts and/or transactions; and assisting and/or preparing routine financial accounting reports; and applying financial/budgeting policies and regulations to conduct financial oversight, budget formulation and/or execution; and performing analysis of financial data to monitor budget and accounting performance for corrective action. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
