REX is looking for an experienced Controller to help develop our accounting, internal control & compliance policies and processes so that we can continue to meet the needs of our rapidly scaling company. This role will work closely with the CFO and business unit leaders around REX. The ability to lead and build teams, work with 3rd party advisors, troubleshoot issues as they arise, manage relationships, and create foundational systems is very important in this role. You will oversee financial activities as well as identify areas of improvement to increase accuracy, timeliness and regulatory compliance under the direction of the CFO.

Key Job Responsibilities Include:
Establishing and improving upon our financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting systems across the transaction cycles of our various businesses
Designing, improving and delivering timely internal reporting including period-end close financials, variance reports, quarterly and management accounting reports as needed
Building, developing, mentoring and retaining top talent to establish a world class accounting function, including the services of our current third-party accounting support team and transitioning accounting functions in-house as appropriate over time in collaboration with the CFO
Ensure our accounting policies and practices comply with US GAAP across our various businesses
Work with the CFO and third-party advisors (including our auditors, technical accounting advisors, and legal counsel) to implement and develop workflows, systems, internal controls, accounting close process and reporting timelines
Getting REX IPO/SPAC ready (partnering with auditors, external accountants, IBankers, technical accounting advisors)
Manage working capital and banking/treasury functions
Working with our external tax advisors to ensure timely calculation of tax liabilities and filing of federal and state tax returns
What You’ll Need:
10 years minimum of progressive hands on experience in public accounting, auditing, public company controllership and FP&A.
CPA is required
Bachelor’s degree with concentration in accounting or finance required; MBA preferred
Experience managing all general accounting and financial reporting functions
An up to date understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Strong working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements and familiarity with SEC requirements
Strong knowledge of corporate finance and other accounting theory, principles and practices
Full Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office, Google docs and direct working knowledge of mainstream accounting software
Enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on startup environment and pitching in to help scale the business quickly
Ability to define, implement and execute processes in a disciplined manner based on best practices and regulatory requirements
Participated/ led implementation of accounting software/ ERP systems
Attention to detail, discipline and strong organizational skills
Ability to multitask
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a virtual setting
Experience in Real Estate industry or related industries such a residential mortgage preferred but not required
Participated in IPO/SPAC process
