The Lead Financial Analyst is a member of the Finance Division at Penn State Health, and reports to the appropriate facility or corporate Finance leadership. Under minimal supervision, the lead Financial Analyst is responsible for duties involving two or more of the following core areas: Revenue and Reimbursement; General Accounting; Third Party Contracting; Medicare / Medicaid Cost Reports; Financial and Statistical Reporting. Provides mentoring and training for financial staff members as needed. Mentors and guides staff on financial analyses and other aspects of financial responsibilities, serving as the expert, go-to resource. This position is primarily responsible for fixed asset accounting which includes recording the costs of the acquired assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation and accounting for the transfer and disposition of fixed assets for the health system. Understand the accounting for lease transactions in accordance with ASC-842 to include the recording of journal entries and account reconciliations.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in finance, accounting, business, health administration, or a related field required.
5 years of functional experience required
5 years of fixed asset accounting
Strong understanding of ASC 842

Knowledge of financial systems / technical skills, along with an advanced understanding of GAAP.

Demonstrate continued willingness to learn, while developing business acumen to achieve ongoing growth within the position and within the organization.
