Job Description

Who We Are

We are a firm that values and respects our staff, fosters an environment that encourages learning and growth, and is committed to the success of our clients.

At PAE, we like to think of ourselves as a little bit different from most engineering firms. Here’s why:

  • We care intensely about envisioning and creating sustainable building systems and work every day to break new ground in the world of sustainable design.
  • We have a close affinity to the visions of the architects we work with; we understand the need for beauty as well as practicality.
  • We value creativity as much as we value precision.
  • We understand that the visionary people we want to hire need to experience the world in order to change the world, and we work hard to support that need.

What You'll Do

The Finance Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, customization, training, and support of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and applications for PAE (currently Deltek). This position requires cross functional close-collaborative work with Information Systems, Project Accounting, Corporate Finance, Project Support, Marketing, Human Resources, and other internal departments.

  • Work with Finance Leadership, organizational partners, and stakeholders to assess and define system requirements to meet core functionality and key business objectives.
  • Lead the administration and ongoing support of Finance applications and tools, including ERP (Deltek), budgeting tools, Power BI reports, et cetera.
  • Plan, test and implement system changes, version upgrades, customizations, workflows, and process improvements in accordance with PAE’s change management process.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any ERP related hardware, software, user access, or other problems.
  • Participate in projects to gather user requirements, design, configure, test, and implement ERP systems and applications.
  • Monitor and manage system performance and data integrity. Work with internal IS resources and vendor support to resolve issues.
  • Provide escalation support and troubleshooting for key stakeholders and critical business processes.
  • Develop support content and train front-line support staff.
  • Act as the ERP subject-matter expert for system-integration efforts.
  • Participate in the execution of operational controls for Finance systems (e.g., business continuity, incident, problem, and change management), which may include occasional after-hours operations and support.
  • Participate in the development of operational documentation (e.g., infrastructure diagrams, standards, policies, procedures, training).
  • Participate in the development and enforcement of information management policy and procedures related to the ERP, including data classification, taxonomy, retention, integration, and security.
  • Actively invest in continuing education by attending training, user groups, conferences, and reading industry content.
  • Enterprise change management
  • Engage with IS to manage and enhance the use of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) enabled tools.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience; 8-10 years of related professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Deltek administration required. Additional experience with other ERP platforms a plus.
  • Experience with SQL scripting, SSRS, and JSON a plus.
  • Understanding of Project and Corporate Accounting processes and workflows in a professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with RPA preferred.
  • Experience in the Architecture and/or Engineering industry preferred.
  • In-depth expertise and experience with the following:
  • Deltek system administration, configuration, customization, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and the Office 365 platform.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting systems/software.
  • Experience developing reports with Access, Excel, and Power BI preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to train users in groups or one-on-one.
  • Ability to translate non-technical business requirements into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Ability to work with technology partners and vendors to manage delivery of desired outcomes.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion.
