OVERVIEW:
Do you enjoy thinking about financial forecasting, financial analysis, performing detailed and complex reconciliations, and providing management with financial reports for decision-making and quality assurance? We do too, here at the Department of County Human Services, Business Services Division.
As the Finance Specialist Senior you will perform a variety of grant accounting, auditing and fiscal management tasks including advanced financial analysis, forecasting trends, performing detailed and complex reconciliations and providing management with financial reports for decision-making and quality assurance.
Primary responsibilities include:
Perform a variety of grant accounting, auditing and fiscal management tasks
Assist with the development of the department budget
Create documents for proposed/adopted budget
Assist with ongoing budget preparation
Complete year-end close process
Respond to internal and external financial audits and fiscal reviews
Assist the Finance Supervisor in procedure implementation and process documentation
Perform complex professional accounting, budgeting, auditing, and grants management for grants and agencies assigned to this position
Examine the adequacy of the internal routines and control for the Department
Maintain internal control documentation as required by Central Finance
Coordinate with program and grantor to develop annual revenue and expenditure forecasts for each grant

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Bachelor's degree in from an accredited college or university with major coursework in finance, economics, statistics, accounting or a related field
Five (5) years of progressively responsible financial management experience, three years of which must be specifically related to budgeting
Must pass the following required tests: Excel and Business writing test
