The American Girl Finance Department is seeking an energetic, self-starting Finance Manager to join the team based in Middleton, WI. This position will report directly into the Sr Director of Finance and be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the business unit by doing the following:


KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


As Manager, serve as independent cross-functional team lead on FP&A and Reporting processes and projects. Candidate must be able to represent fact-based positions, build momentum, and lead a wide variety of constituencies to accomplish objectives.


* Manage broad based financial responsibilities for the American Girl Division including current year & future year Forecasting, Reporting, and Commercial support

* Provide financial direction to cross functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Brand, Finance, Design & Development, Supply Chain) to help achieve Divisional & Brand objectives

* High visibility role with exposure to various commercial & operational functions

* Partner with Centralized FP&A & Reporting teams to review forecasts / results to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and planning

* Effectively communicate financial results, concepts and issues with Senior Management & Corporate HQ

* Coordinate communications regarding financial reporting and planning processes

* Lead and drive in-depth financial analysis related to key business unit initiatives and strategic projects, including formulating steps and executing to successful conclusion

* Perform significant ad-hoc analyses by request

* Manage month-end close processes and SOX/Audit controls

* Manage at least 1 direct report


KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:


* Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to effectively work within a cross campus finance organization

* Exceptional analytical abilities with complete P&L understanding

* Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize workloads to accurately meet business requirements

* Ability to step out of comfort zones by taking assignments of increasing complexity and ambiguity

* Confidence in conclusions from analysis; ability to clearly communicate recommendations to cross functional teams at all levels

* Responsible, resourceful and goal oriented

* MBA/CPA or equivalent preferred

* 5-7 years of experience in finance, preferably in a consumer goods or retail industry

* Strong proficiency with MS Office tools; Advanced Excel modeling required

* Essbase (Hyperion Enterprise & Planning), ERP knowledge preferred

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Must be proactive, results oriented, and possess high ethical standards

* Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the toy, entertainment, consumer products industries a plus

* Prior managerial experience and experience working within a virtual team preferred
