Finance Manager

As Finance Manager, you'll be a trusted business partner to our executives in the field. In this role, you'll provide financial analysis and insights, assist with proposing pricing strategies, and analyzing project budgets against actual figures. You'll also manage the reporting and coordination of report distribution, while also keeping a keen eye towards constantly improving our processes and reporting capabilities. As well as being the main contact for client-related financial reporting and analysis, you'll also participate in our monthly forecast and annual budgeting process.

Through your strategic approach, and your ability to influence others, you'll provide meaningful analysis and make strong recommendations, to help executives achieve their financial goals for each client.

You'll support NH's accounts, while your innovative ideas should improve efficiency, both quantitatively and qualitatively. You'll communicate leading practices to clients and client teams alike, and act as a mentor or coach to client executives and portfolio leads as to pricing and billing term strategy. You may also be asked to participate in national projects or initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial analysis and insights related to project and client profitability and performance against plan; assist with "telling the story" of monthly financial performance—specifically for revenue and direct cost.
  • Participate in the monthly forecast for process for revenue and direct cost; analyze variances and provide assessment of opportunities and risks
  • Maintain multiple eAxecutive-level relationships, and participate in weekly & monthly calls with our portfolio leaders in the field
  • Help manage a standard book of business for and partner with a Portfolio Group Lead
  • Collaborate with CE and Portfolio Leads to develop pricing and billing strategies
  • Suggest and implement leading practices for improving processes, for both the Finance group and the client-serving staff
  • dvise and help train client-serving executives (CEs) on project economics and critical administration methods
  • Own the creation and dissemination of standardized reporting and insights; advise on improvements and automate where needed. Don't just create the reports, but communicate the insights contained therein.
  • Serve as a subject matter specialist on NH's Workday and Bullhorn engagement software, practices and policies
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and support as requested by Finance leadership or our leadership in the field.
  • Manage a Financial Associate, responsible for report creation and distribution as well as following up on various ad hoc requests for the Portfolio Profitability team.


To qualify, candidates must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; Master's degree beneficial
  • A minimum of 4-6 years related professional experience
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written; ability to articulate the story behind the numbers
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • A self-starter with an innate curiosity and desire to investigate and analyze why things are the way they are
  • Adept at taking a consultative approach in business transactions, and influencing executive decision-making
  • Effective multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Strong teaming abilities, with demonstrated virtual teaming ability
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word programs, with an ability to learn new applications quickly
  • Workday Finance and PSA experience a plus
