The Finance Manager’s responsibility is to provide Senior Management with reliable financial information to support sound business decisions. The role’s key focus areas are:
(i) Management reporting: ensure Division’s reported financials are accurate, timely and a fair reflection of operating performance; assist Division Senior Management in the preparation of reports and meetings.
(ii) Financial planning and analysis: coordinate global, cross-functional team efforts for forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning activities.
(iii) Business partnership: track performance metrics and recommend improvement action plans to ensure the business delivers its operating targets. Provide ad hoc assistance to M&A or Capital projects.
(iv) Continuous improvement in the fields of reporting quality and process efficiency over time through participating in project teams and leveraging shared service centers.
In addition, the Finance Manager assumes responsibility for the Division’s central costs management and ensures global internal control policies are in place, tracks and reports on internal audit remediation plans.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Plans, coordinates, reviews and analyzes monthly consolidated management reporting for the Division.
Prepares monthly management reporting pack for Senior Management and Corporate with comments on financial performance summarized from business unit and global commercial controlling inputs. Reporting pack includes sales and profit variance analysis vs prior year and budget (waterfall charts), capital expenditure status, working capital performance.
Sets up and conducts (jointly with Global Finance Director and Division VP & General Manager) monthly business update meetings with business units, quarterly business reviews, forecast reviews and budget reviews. Follows up and tracks progress against action plans resulting from those meetings.
Participates in division-level management meetings to present analyzed actual and forecasted financials, central costs tracker and internal control updates.
Assists Global Finance Director and Division VP & General Manager in the preparation of Senior Management meetings with Executive VP teams and CEO.
Coordinates quarterly closes and ensures reconciliation of audited statements with monthly management reporting in close collaboration with Paris-based corporate teams.
Coordinates budgeting and forecasting activities: timing, progress tracking, analysis & feedback, Senior Management presentation.
Strive for consistency of financial reporting methodologies between business units and compliance with IFRS and Group principles.
Carries out ad hoc analysis and projects as assigned including M&A and capital projects analysis.
Relentlessly drives for continuous improvement of reporting accuracy, quality and efficiency through partnerships with Corporate teams, project teams and shared service centers.
Skills and Attributes Requirements
Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial ratios. Experience working with financial consolidation/reporting and Business Intelligence tools (Hyperion, Magnitude, Qlik).
Superior Excel/Google Sheets, Ppt/Google Slides user with exceptional formatting skills.
Excellent planner with a track record of getting teamwork organized so no deadline is ever missed. Ability to federate matrical teams and influence without hierarchical authority, across cultural, geographic boundaries.
