The Finance Manager manages the day to day activities within the Finance and Accounting Department. This includes overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, standard costing, quoting, month end close, forecast, business financial performance measurement, cost reduction, annual budget and long-range planning.
The position will report to the Controller.
This position directs the Accounting function (A/P, A/R, P/R, G/L) and the analysts supporting the Manufacturing Teams and the Cost System. This position is responsible for all functions with respect to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, long range business planning, business financial performance measurement, cost reduction, forecasts, budgets, inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, standard costing, and internal controls.
Be a key member of the Plant's Finance and Accounting Department developing the specific knowledge of theindustry, product positioning, cost of manufacturing, business measurement tools, and financial control systems.
Champion the drive for continuous improvements in productivity and cost reduction. Must be able to influence peers and the Bellwood Management team with clear concise information identifying opportunities for improvement, establishing goals based on these opportunities, and measuring progress towards meeting those goals. Work with Product Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations Management, and Sales and Marketing to ensure a timely and accurate response to "Requests for Quotation" from customers. Work with Sales and Marketing on all commercial issues that need financial support. Plan and develop effective accounting system and procedures in order toprovide external financial reports and internal operating performance reports. Establish financial objectives for theoperating unit and track progress for disclosure and follow-up to the Operating Committee. Direct the preparation oftimely financial analyses and reports to provide management with valid indicators of the unit's operating results. Direct the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and operating plans for future growth in the areas of new product development, expansion of production facilities, penetration of new markets or expansion or existing markets, acquisition and divestiture proposals, etc. Supervise and direct the financial and administrative control functions toensure proper internal controls (i.e. inventory controls and fixed assets). Take appropriate action to recruit, train, and develop a competent organization in the areas of the Lead Analyst's responsibilities. Maintain an organizational structure where responsibility is clearly defined and expected work outcomes achieved
