DESCRIPTION
Amazon.com is seeking a Finance Manager to join Amazon's Global Tax Organization. Via partnerships with business, operations, and technology teams, this position will drive financial insights and lead strategic initiatives to improve financial reporting and customer experience. This role will engage with executive leadership and cross functional teams to drive results.
This role requires a self-starter with strong business modeling skills, a keen attention to detail and good track record of influencing business partners. The successful candidate will have the ability to tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. You will use your oral and written communication skills and demonstrate your ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize.

Key job responsibilities
- Driving planning and budgeting and related deliverables, and ensuring financial discipline and compliance.
- Prepare financial metrics, financial reporting, and financial analysis
- Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish
- Provide controllership over several fixed and variable costs of the business
- Anticipate business requirements, trends, and variances; develop action plans; measure and analyze results; initiate corrective actions; minimize the impact of negative variances
- Prepare financial metrics, financial reporting, and financial analysis
- Lead periodic long-term planning and forecasting efforts

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
