Finance director needed to provide business partnership, financial insights and analysis to support the North American Field Operations Division (approx. revenue $600M per year).  The division provides sales, service and technical support to the US, Canada and a South African distributor.  As a department, finance provides accounting, analysis, reporting, forecasting, planning and budgeting support for the division.  The North American Finance Director will report to the Senior Director of Finance and Administration for the Americas and lead a team of nine with three manager-level direct reports.  This position will partner closely with the VP of North American Field Operations. 


  • use of analytics and business acumen to collaborate with business leaders to develop orders and sales forecasts
  • partnering with business leaders on allocation of resources including headcount, operating expenses, capital and inventory
  • partnering with business leaders on design of incentive plans
  • ensuring compliance with revenue recognition rules and policies
  • oversight and coordination of team efforts to:
    • administer all incentive plans for the organization including plan documents, goal setting, modeling and calculation of payouts
    • perform accounting for the organization, including support for the leasing portfolio, accruals, demo inventory, intercompany profit eliminations and revenue deferrals
    • conduct business analysis of sales and trade margin performance
    • plan, develop and implement cost center level budget/annual operating plan for division
    • provide tax and treasury support to the Canadian operation


  • Bachelors degreerequired, focus in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred. MBA or CPApreferred
  • 7+ years of experience in a Finance or closely related field
  • Demonstrated people management experience
  • Work experience within global publicly traded companies preferred (preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device industry)
  • Previous experiencesupporting Field Sales and Service Organizations strongly preferred
  • Systems aptitude and proficiency in Microsoft suite
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and continual process improvement
  • Requires history of proactive problem solving, balanced leadership and pro-active business partnering withsupported groups strong organization, attention to detail and a commitment to quality output
