The Database Manager will be responsible for the design, architecture and maintenance of various TM1 models. TM1 is enterprise software used to implement collaborative planning, budgeting and forecasting solutions, as well as analytical and reporting applications. This Database Manager will be in the unique position to build upon and develop a highly-valued combination of both technical and financial skillsets.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in data modeling sessions with application stakeholders/sponsors.

  • Understand current state and identify improvement opportunities

  • Architect solutions to support business requirements

  • Build TM1 dimensions and cubes in alignment with design

  • Develop Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes to load data to TM1 from source systems or other existing cubes

  • Create database formulas (cube rules) to support business requirements

  • Define and implement security access to the model(s)

  • Ensure testing is complete and migrate the models through environments (Development and Production)

  • Create architecture diagram, balancing files, and production support procedures to ensure data integrity

  • Load and balance cubes as needed (Daily, Monthly, Quarterly, etc...)

  • Complete change controls for updates to models

  • Build exports in TM1 Connect and design dashboards in Tableau when needed to support business requirements

  • Continually seek efficiency opportunities within Finance

Qualifications

  • Experience in Finance

  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities and design automated solutions

  • Ability to see the “big picture” and understand overall system architecture

  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to take initiative and lead projects

  • Proven track record of identifying problems and implementing practical solutions

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Experience working with TM1 preferred

  • Insurance experience preferred

  • Experience with Oracle, SAS, SQL and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is a plus.
